Engine Shops In The York/Lancaster Area

Well I am looking to have a motor built pretty soon and I don't really know anywhere thats very reputable to do it. I was reffered to a place in Lancaster called Race Crafters and they quoted me $2300 just to put the motor together (not inluding parts)

If anyone knows of anywhere within an hr or 2 drive of said area please let me know, thanks!

I would say Leedy Automotive here in york. If you go about 5 minutes past the sheetz we stopped at on saturday night its on the left. They told me like 1000 dollars labor (not including parts) on my build but that was me bringing them my motor. They said they would assemble it and i would swap it back in. But that price is about right if they have to pull your motor and re-install it. If you would need a garage to pull it in and store your car until its done we got room for 7, lol.

My plan was to purchase a motor from a junkyard ( a good running low mileage motor) They can be found for ike 400 bucks with less then 15k on em and have that one built, I would basically have the motor shipped to the shop and I would drop off all the parts. I would like a mild port and polish and a 3 angle valve job, I would have full ferrea valvetrain and SS valves, wiseco pistons 8:9.1 CR and Eagle rods with arp head studs and rod bolts and an mls gasket.. along with comp cams turbo cams. thats my build..

but yeah we could do the swap at your garage if you wouldnt mind bro.

Leedy Automotive?

Do they do tranny or machine work?

And where abouts is this place exactly?

Phil, there is a machine shop by my house which is less than 2 hours from you. They are a pretty good place and will be building my new sunbird bottom end for me and doing some pretty extensive crank work. If you want to cut down on costs, just have the shop build the bottom end for you. I can do all of the head work but the valve job for you and assembly the motor if you'd like. We'll talk about it when you come for a hood.
