Let me start off by saying that I am far from a newbie here on JBO, but when it comes to the Maryland area it's a different story. I just moved here this week and a friend of mine is searching for a new car (she's newer here too). She's said that some of the dealers in Timonium and Towson have kinda given here a hastle and I was hoping that some of my fellow Jbody Marylanders could steer me in the direction of some reputable dealerships. She doesn't have a set make of car, but she wants something reliable and reasonably priced (Honda, GM, Toyota, Ford, etc.). If anyone could give me feedback on reputations on different dealerships in the area I'd greatly apreciate it! Thanks!

for Toyota, go to Bill Kidd's - they're north of Towson on York Rd. if you take I-83 north to the Warren Road exit, turn right off Warren onto York and they're right there on the left. outstanding customer service...another member of the forum has also had an exceedingly positive experience with them. my parents will be purchasing another vehicle from them this summer - we got my Corolla through them, and i was told they bought their 99 Camry through them as well. they're respectful, and are willing to do what they can for you. they're also pretty flexible on their used cars...and they ALWAYS have Corollas for sale.
for Chevrolet...don't go to Fox Chevy on Padonia. they're a snakepit.
the Subaru dealership in cockeysville seems pretty sleazy...i didn't like them.
Towson Ford is apparently a decent dealership, but we've only dealt with them on the service end of things.
i haven't dealt with anyone else in the area as far as sales go...

My parents and I have had great experiences at Sport Chevy in Silver Spring and Fox Chevy in Laurel.
My uncle and cousin work at ODonnell Honda in Ellicott City, I would recommend them also.
STAY AWAY FROM CARMAX!
CarMax in Laurel = crap. i've heard decent things about CarMax in White Marsh.

all the GOOD salespeople from Fox Chevy in Timonium left - many went to Fox in Security/Woodlawn. i hear some of the good folks are still over there, but i don't know if they're on the Chevy side or the Mitsu side.

My friends dad works at the Pontiac in Silver Spring........if you'd like his info lemme know. He gave me a great deal as well as a few family members.
BILL KIDD'S!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got my 06 tC from there... AWESOME people... you don't even feel like you're at a dealership, it's almost like going into a strange building and meeting some long lost family members for the first time. I seriously don't think I'll ever go to another dealership again.

not sure if an infinity would make your list, but ken jones at the infinity dealership on timonium road is top notch. went in there to give the G35 a first view and try and he def was very helpful. alot more helpful than the ford dealership in towson on york road and wasnt in a "rush you get ya out of here if you dont buy today" attitude....
Thank you everyone for all the input, the chick who I was helping select a car is kinda in a pause mode right now. We did find a nice dealership though, S&S(something german I think) but she wouldnt go for the mint 03 eco sedan cav with 13,000....I'll just wait for her to decided she wants to hit the lots again I suppose.
