I have tried looking up laws regarding car lighting in PA. I was under the assumption that driving with any underbody lighting, visible neons, strobes, or washer LEDs will get you pulled over and ticketed. I have heard that as long as it isn't red or blue lights you are fine. Or if you are parked you can have anything on but once you are driving you can't because they are a distraction. Then there is the notion that local cops don't care but state troopers do. I pretty much just want the facts, not what people think.
I have blue neons inside my car to light the interior and multicolor LED lights under my car (lights are not visible, just the glow). If anyone has had any knowledge on this subject matter I would like to know. Maybe someone knows a cop that has the facts. Thanks for any info.
it is illegal to drive with any exterior lighting on that is novelty. if you are in a parking lot the car must be turned off and the keys out of the ignition to engage ay novelty lighting, some police officers may hassle you if they are red and blue because it may confuse ongoers thinking there may be an emergency, some do not mind..
thats what I learned in my college Criminal Justice courses and learned through my odl hometown police officers, sorry fi that wasnt any help

depends on which cop. tonight i got harassed b.c i was washing my car at 2am. normally they stop and say wassup then leave, but this douchebag took IDs and called em in
I can tell you about 10 years ago when the light up license plate frames were cool, my sister-in-law got pulled over twice for hers. The ticket said something about it being a distraction to other drivers.
Can't have any light on. I'm not even sure if you can have any type of interior lighting on either that isn't stock. Classify it as a distraction.
yeah thats pretty much what I thought...thx guys

Your not supposed to have any lights on inside stock or aftermarket.
Not allow to drive with any after market lights inside or outside your car.
Parking and turning them on can also result in a ticket ( know I got two) for strobe lights. Anything that comes close to flashing (red/blue/white) gets on the bad side of cops because you can untimely pose as a cop.
Coming from first hand experience don't get flashing blue, red or white lights.
You can however mount lights that are yellow - running lights on trucks but nothing like neons or stobes.
strobe or flashing lights
i have had no problems.i have red fog lights, red led dome light i drive with that on,white/blue turn and bumper lights.
