New Police Car WARNING.
Tuesday, May 30, 2006 5:38 AM
Ok so I told you guys about the Cobalt SS's we have out here in Howard Co. but I know a great number of you live nowhere near here but good to know none the less. Anyway yesterday on the way to visit my fathers grave for memorial day on 95 between the 895 split and White Marsh we saw a black Mustang GT police car with someone pulled over and a silver Camaro SS with another car stopped. Yup the state police have Mustang GT's and are still running the Camaro's too. We also pasted a Charger with HEMI badges on it running radar.

So in short Mustang GT, Camaro SS, and HEMI Chargers are all being used by the Maryland State Police.
Watch your backs out there and be careful.

right by my gf's house there is a town running a charger for a cop car and the town right across the bridge from my house has had mustang cop cars for a while now

Well the cops do have the right to use any car they want. Like they said in the matrix, if the car isn't one of "us" it could be one of the "them". So just drive legally and you'll be fine.

I would never try to race one of those cars anyway lol

if they want to start pulling ppl they should use focuses, then use those other cars for chase cars

Yeah but it's also a great warning for all the speeders.....I don't think many can say they haven't gone over the speed limit before.

out of place, but on topic.

i think in Chicago they had v10 or 12 vipers a few years ago, i would find that quite intimidating

Weve got a couple Imapala SS's running near my area in Pittsburgh, talked to an officer about it, said he was on a call about something going 120 and there was plenty of pedal left.

are local cops are running the imapala's and they aren't all that bad. I don't know speeding tickets in maryland are cheap. experienced one a few years ago. Was doing like 80 or 85 and caught in heavy traffic on the outside and there sat 2 maryland's states on the side. was quite funny. Seeing the guy walk out in the middle of the road and lip pull over. I got stuck out in the HOV I think they are called lane. But the guy marked me down for doing either 65 or 70. something like that in a 55 zone. I was like great This ticket is gonna screw me over big time for cash. Heck if I remember right When he handed me the ticket and I looked at it I couldn't believe it was only $50. I was shocked! I got one in Pa for doing 55 in a 45 and it was 200 plus dollars. Still nice to have the heads up on what the cops drive. But don't plan on speeding a whole lot anyway.

$50 are you sure? That sounds like a 5 mph above fine to me but its been a while since I've been nailed (knock on wood )

PA definently got me good years ago. 65 in a 30, thru a town, and the cops chased me for like 9 miles before I even know they were back there! (Twistie windie road and I never saw him) But that was for a total of more then
$500.00. The cop said it was the most he'd ever written in 5 years of being on the force, Of corse being the smart ass that I am I replied" Really ? This ain't the most I've gotten in the past 5 months." And then something about him being a bumpkin from a hick town. That didn't go over well needless to say.

The most I've gotten here in MD on one ticket was $255.00 for going amost double the posted speed.

you should of lost your license. in pa if you do double the speed limit, its an automatic loss of license

AH yes and he wanted me to sign his PA state inspection ticket too that I refused to BECAUSE the problem is I'm not a resident of PA and my car wasn't registered in PA either so all he could do was site me and tell me to have a nice day. I paid the fines and never got any points either because this happened before points from PA could be transfered to MD. Being a MD state resident and the car was registered here PA couldn't revoke my license nor nail me for the inspection stuff.

Of corse now days the points WOULD transfer and you'd be screwed. Ahhhhh the good old days!!

The MTA around B-more will drive any car. Doesn't matter what it is. I've seen people pulled over by Intrepids, camaros, mustangs f-350's, and just about anything else. Hell I know a police officer who patrols in a cavalier.

being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than
himself.

from what I was my stupid little town is trying to get a hummer. When they already have 2 cop cruisers and a SUV. And the town don't even have a population over 3000 I don't think.Heck we have 2 factories that maybe employ 200 ppl total. and the rest of the town is dead. Our cop force/town board are frickin' stupid and wasteful

Actually... I DO believe depending on the offense, and whether or not they want to go through the trouble, points can transfer between MD and PA... but I THINK they have to put in a request through the DMV/MVA.
