Hey guys is there any meets,shows on the Laurel md area im very interested in attending one, i meen my car os not at all showy i woul just like to chill and talk to my fellow j-owners.

people have pretty much given up meets in the MD area. the interest has died down, or people grew beyond the cavalier/sunfire/sunbird/etc.

engine is very clean looking....good luck w/ the build


how far is laurel from delaware? it sound familiar im trying to figure out about how far you are, we have meets around my way from time to time

There is a Laurel in Delaware also.. probably why is sounds formiliar. Laurel, DE is a few miles out of Milford.
The distance to Laurel, MD from DE is all going to depend on where in DE you are. Laurel is about midway between Washington and Baltimore.
We used to have meets in Columbia every Friday and Saturday but people kept cancelling. After my engine blew I had no way of getting there anymore eiher. Despite, I am about to start the meets back up again when it gets just a little warmer out.

i still find it funny how easy it was for J-Krew to have people show up every night(till Scruf was gone most of the time)....and you guys have so much trouble meeting up.

i'm convinced people have gotten sick of the "scene" around here. the people who were regulars at our meets are barely on the forum anymore...i think Streve and i are the only two left who peruse the forum on a semi-regular basis. face it, guys...the people who made the meets regularly have moved on. unless you all buckle down and meet up, it's just not going to happen anymore. no one wants to sit around in a parking lot all night anymore - i know i don't. that got old. most folks don't have money to drop on restaurants every weekend, either...so unless someone's willing to give up space in their home regularly, i don't see meets happening.

good luck, if you try to get people together again...i just don't see it as a successful venture anymore.

we didn't blow air horns because we liked where we hung out. we didn't want to be told never to return. sorry if that's too "lame" for you - though seeing Ben running around the Avenue in a chicken suit was pretty hilarious.

J-Krew had a nice run of a few years but nothing lasts forever, but I remember the times which were pretty damned hilarous, theres always an end.

And I agree with lilbit when people did show up one person or another would have an attitude problems would start and noone was there for silly drama. I know I wasn't anyway. Most were cool and as I said I'd be down for it when ever other people decide

I'm working on two extremely sexy asian girls as we speak. We've got Michelle, a girl that I went to daycare with waaaay back when and then ran into her at the club the other night.. hit it off well. Then we have Erin.. highschool crush that recently broke up with the dude she was with alll highschool long. Now of course I had to wait to make my move on that one... but... you will probably see both of them when the meets start back up. Different times of course.

I'd be willing to come out to meets, as long as were actually doing something, like eating in the restauraunt.

Hanging out in a parking lot is extremely boring for me, but if you've got some intelligent conversation going on it's a different story.

BTW the best meets are at autocrosses

Oh the drama..... how could I forget?
I think because of the area and a few people that are in it, it is unavoidable. I was thinking that we start meeting up at the Denny's in Laurel as it is 24/7. I still like the old Columbia meeting place but if a restaraunt would atract more people then we should try it.
Autocross meets would be cool but since we meet on friday nights... there really aren't any events going on. The 28th sounds like a good idea for a meet but as something separate form the usual meets. I have always wanted to try autocross although I wont enter this. I have no suspension work done to my car and I don't think I fit in ANY catagory.

A turbo "sinbird" will most likely be in SM. I'm going to start posting autocrosses in the regional forum as they come out with details on them. I want to race against more J's and just see what they've done with the cars.

I'd be up for coming to some meets with the Malibu once I get to work turboing it this summer. Right now it's slow and stock until its paid off .

actually i blew an air horn in mcdonalds where we met, and all outside of there as well.... good time

plus i got alot of "filmage" of the meets, for some of the wild pew pew....
