Problem with O'Donnel Honda on rt 40

Well as some may know I bought a Jeep. I am selling the civic... The buyer of the civic wanted to get a compression test done, and a mock inspection. He knew the service manager at O'Donnell Honda...

So I take the car back, and go pick it up the next day and find the front lip is torn off becuase they ran it into a curb.

I talked to the dealership before I left, and was told I would get a phone call from the manager today. I called later because I got no phone call and the manager says they did not damage the car. It is possible the potenial buyer damaged it because he supposedly test drove it with out my consent.

Anyone know a good lawyer or if this would hold up in court?

If they let the potential buyer drive it when it was in their care, it's all on them.

What kind of cost is the replacement of the front lip?

If you don't know I would get a few quotes on replacement of the front lip first so you know what kind of damage your looking at.

Usually a lawyer will give you a free consultation, or charge a minimal fee to evaluate your case.

We're you talking to the service manager, or the manager of the dealership? Many times if you talk to another manager you'll get what you need. I would NOT let them do the bodywork however as they have already shown their lack of concern for your personal property. I would personally reccomend the body shop accross from car toys in Frederick, or the Chevy dealer in Damascus. I've had both do excellent collision work.

Last resort, threaten the legal action and see if they give in. If they don't then seek out a lawyer. All these things, tho the list is long need to be done ASAP. Before and after pictures would help. Plus the Manager has already told you that it was probably done by the "potential buyer" so that's pretty much admiting fault. Also I'm assuming you showed it to someone in the service department before you left so that should hels as well. It would be there poragative to get money from the "potential buyer", but you just need to make sure you get the money from them.

Good luck,

-Chris

Doesn't matter what disclaimer the dealership has displayed. In the state of MD when you give a car to a shop and they except it then they except responcibility for it 100%.
The car was damaged there then they are in deed liable for any repairs it needs done.
Think I'm kidding? Call a lawyer, those disclaimers mean absolutly nothing and do not hold up in court.

Good Luck. But if they give you trouble mention a lawsuit and I bet they cave.
