My home is near Pittsburgh, though it doesn't help right now because I'm stationed in Germany until at least December '06. But it would be cool to keep in touch w/some car ppl from home.

Problem with an all J-body club is lack of participation, quality, and people moving on to newer or higher end vehicles.

The club scene is getting so beat and oversaturated with people hanging out in a parking lot and calling themselves a club its not even funny. The "local forum" deal is even worse.

If you look around you will find clubs and fourms that are car realated especially in the pittsburgh area. Instead of throwing to together a forum for maybe 10 people that ends up disapearing, search. Or you can find quality clubs but need to understand that people want members that are going to actually advance.

The unfortunate reality with the j-body scene when you try to target a specific area, is you get a lot of young people, with not a lot of money to dump into a base line econo car and turn it into somthing, yet alone stick with it. I had my cavalier from it being brand new to droping close to $15,000 in it as it was when I sold it this past July to move onto somthing new. The money racks up fast and I didn't even get to the engine like I originally wanted to with a supercharger. A majority of the younger people don't stick with it and lose interest or they talk about what they are going to do, but still have a stock car with "intake, muffler (not a full exhaust), and shaved badges".

You just can't do that if you want to be serious or betaken some what serious. NDC is at a point right now of people changing tastes and aquiring new vehicles but everyone has been comitted. Hell I bought my bike, dropped 1 grand on it already between july and september, and have another 2000 grand on order in parts to put on over the winter. This time other than the Carbon fiber stuff, its mostly going to be "go fast" parts and weight reduction.

It costs to play period. I get applications all the time and I turn a lot down because of past expereinces dealing with clubs since 2002. Unfortunatly a lot of people that "say they" have a lot of plans don't get in, because 90% of them never come through. I usually tell those people when they have all their plans together reapply and we'll see where they are at.

Again this explination is given and usually backed up by quite a few people I have delt with over the years, like Acidburn who already responded.....

Mike, you hit the nail right on the head. A lot of people are talk, say that they're going to do this and that with their car, but they never do. Or think because they have a set of rims and a set of 2 inch lowering springs (on stock shocks) and decals and think their car is the cat's meow. Having a good modified car costs money, not 500 dollars worth of mods and a set of subs. There's always the drama factor in a car club, and someone always hating on you or not liking your car because it's not finished. I'd rather do something right and have it as a work in progress than mickey mouse it and have it break the next day.

Um jeff what happend to Bankraft Tuning? I responded in another thread about custom shops then noticed you didn't have anything in your sig, when I clicked on teams and clubs in the org database it was no longer there.

Don't tell me after all that crap Matt gave it up

Bahnkraft Tuning is no longer. The drama was too much, and he no longer has his Cavalier. You can ask him why he doesn't have that anymore The rest of us got sick of the drama too, and I'll be starting my own club with the rest of the members since they didn't want to be in Bahnkraft anymore.

Wow thats funny. Hmmmm Matt and drama, go figure let me guess, he wanted people to participate more and was getting irritated that they didn't. I'm not laughing at you Jeff, I'm just laughing at that whole situation. Feel free to email me with any details or help since you were civil the whole time.

again

haha. hey jeff, this is cemllyn, i was in bahnkraft for awhile. I havent scraped my stickers off the windows yet.

im not sure if you remember me, i know i kind of lost interest after matt let all cars in. it just felt like all the other clubs after that to me. i didnt have a problem with any of you guys, i thought everyone there was nice enough. i didnt ever make the decision to leave i just...lost interest.

since then i am still modding though. my cavy is looking better than ever, i got that dent pulled :p

ive been interested in mostly performance work though, as of now i have a 62mm TB and lightened crank en route to my house, and im looking to install a 2.5" cat back in january. probably do a minor drop and pay the car off so I can run low boost by the end of the year.

anyway jeff, im glad to hear someone else is sticking with it still.

oh and why DID matt lose his car?

ive actually done a few other things to my car since bahnkraft now that i think about it, you should just check my my info, all i had when i was with you guys was intake rim and the bodykit.

and is your fire still busting eardrums?

yup there was way to much drama going on and not enough leeway for where to meet it was always close to his house. dont get me wrong i dont mind traveling to a meet but it would be nice to have one closer to where i live every once in awhile.

relized that i can never win.sometimes i feel like i have faild inside.wher do i begin.my mind is laughing at me.
