First off... @!#$ YOU Dullas airport and all your United Airlines Employees!
Here's what happend....
Over thanksgiving i went to GA, to spend time with my Fieonce' and flew from Syracuse NY, to Newark NJ. I flew Continental and i was very impressed with their service. Everything was ontime and the flight attendants were very nice. Even the flight attendant who hit on me the whole way down to SC. She was a nice girl and 26 yrs old. I could tell she was when she said to me that i switched which finger my ring was on. I have a titanium ring on my right index finger thats too big for me now since i lost all my weight, and i peroidically switch it b/w my right middle and right index finger. It just surprised me that she noticed that. But before that she when we left the terminal she asked everyone who was excited to leave i said Hell yea! The only one on the flight to say it... lol. She started going over all the safty stuff and i was mouthing everything word for word since i just heard the same thing not 1 hr ago commin from NY. She then started quizzing me on things like what happend during a water landing. I said you can only exit off the exits over the doors, stupid @!#$ that ppl don't pay attention to thats writting on the doors themselves. Then some other random @!#$ that only observant ppl see. We talked about everything possible, it was soo damn funny!
Anyways... comming home yesterday i knew it was going to be a bad day. Leaving Columbia SC, they only had 1 metal dector working and the line was atleast 500ft long. My flight left in 50min from that point. While checking in, i said bye to my gurl. 5 min later realize my cell wasn't on my belt anymore. I panic and run outside leaving my bad there thinkin of great they would prolly take it for a bomb or somthing.... I found her but her mom had drove around the airport. Freaking out i go back to the Keyosk and check in. I stand in the huge line, laura comes back with my phone in hand... Then i say bye to her again. 15 ppl in front of my before i pass security... " attention will Cody M. please return to the untied airlines check in" I say outloud you have got to be @!#$ kidding me..... i sprint back there and the damn TSA guy's key was broken for my TSA lock on my luggage so i had to openit for him and say thanks for making me loose my spot in line. But he walked back up and got me my place back.... After all that BS, i got to my plane at 6:20 and it was suppose to depart at 6:25. We didn't take off untill 7:05... due to their security problems. Then the flight attendant threw my peanuts at me and slamed the drink down on my table. Some customer service there...Fine w/e its only 1 hr to Dullas from there and we'll touch down at 8:05 and i'll have enough time to switch planes. Sure enough, while trying to park the plane it took them 10 min to find the spot and clear the other plane out. I am freakin out now since its 8:15 and my flight to syracuse leaves at 8:32 and i had to clue what gate the plane leaves from. So i get off and run to the first tv that shows where the flights leave from. Gate G9. I was at D 10. So i head to the sign that says shuttle to G concourse.... Thinkin oh @!#$ i am not going to make it, but i caught the bus as it was leaving and it was then 8:22 when i got on it. I am going to make it! Arrived and ran to the gate and gave them my ticket and they said the plane already departed. The time was 8:24. I asked how the @!#$ could it depart when the departure was at 8:32? I have 8 min to get on the flight. He said, we close the flight 10 min before the plan leaves. So my plane home was through a door with its door still open and they are denying me access onto it by 2 min. I used every curse word in my book on this guy. Because that is complete bull@!#$ and no other airport i had ever been too pulled that crap. I go to customer service and start to bitch at them and they said the next direct flight leaves at 12:44pm. It was 8:28 then. 4 hours away!.... After i settled down i took that flight and walked away. Then during my waiting time, i saw the same bull@!#$ happen to an older gentleman, but the closed the door and he walked around the corner 2 seconds later. The denied him entrance..... now that is just wrong right there.
Then ontop of all these problems 98% of the employees there don't even speak english properly and cannot even understand what the hell they are saying....
Anways i get home at 2:00 in the afternoon to snow on the ground... i go to get my luggage and gee it didn't come out with everyone's on that flight. I go to the office and there is my bag. Somehow that made the flight i know i beat them bring that off the other plane to one to syracuse. Then on top of that, the beat the @!#$ out of it and broke the wheels off and the handle. I about had it right then and there... I ranted for 20 min about their @!#$ty serivice. I was offered a round trip, but there was no way in hell i would take it and told them to shove it up their ass. They are buying me a new suitcase tho.
So in the end.... DON"T FLY UNITED AIRLINES OR GO TO D.C./DULLAS airport!!!!!!
I dont go on planes, nono, no planes for me. Id rather drive.
Planes are fun. They are so freaking powerful it's just incredible. I love how they slam you into the seat when they take off. Exhilarating!
put some wings on ur car maybe it will fly
You should keep flying United, so I can tell my dad to make sure he crashes the plane the next time you're on it. I read your story and I don't see anywhere in there why the pilots would deserve your criticism. Pilots are employees.
wooow. someone had a @!#$ty day. i fail to see why it's the airline employees' fault, but hey, i'm sure you felt great cussing some guy out who was merely doing his job.

Because..... its the right of the american citizen. I have no grief with the pilots. But i just couldn't belive that had a bull @!#$ thing that they close the flights 10 min early. I have flown to many large airports before and never had to deal with some @!#$ like that before.... I heard they have some 30 min rule the TSA guard said down in columbia where if there are alot of ppl being late due to the plane, they have to wait for the majoirty of them to get on. Now there were 9 other ppl going from my flight from SC to Syracuse.... They should have waited. If my luggage was allowed to get on the plane after the doors close, then so should the passengers...
Nick.... Wow.... even ponderin the idea of having your dad crash his own plane or rid the world of somone with a bitchy mood... Its nice to know that you really don't care for you dad... think next time.
whoa whoa whoa.
desand youself

1 - did they give you a seat on the next plane? yes.
2 - did you have any right to sit there and bitch, moan, and curse at the guy who closed down the gate if it's their standard policy to do so?
NO.
you were out of line, and probably ruined that guy's day with your sniveling. i've been stuck in the middle of a SPANISH airport for 6 hours because our previous flight got in 10 minutes late - at least you were on frickin American soil. suck it up and deal...it's not like the world would end because you were a few hours late.

Chill out, it was a joke... all i was trying to get at is not to blame all the United employees. I can guarentee every airline does the same thing, its not just United. And i actually do care for my dad. During 9/11, I was scared @!#$less because he took off out of Dulles a few minutes after the hijacked plane and they told him to emergency land the plane.
Truthfully, they should have known they had a passenger incoming.
They've stolen 4 hours of his life away because their other plane was late, and they didn't take the necessary precautions to hold the next plane especially for 2 minutes (necessary window for it to be copesetic with policy) and would have had him at the gate 10 minutes early.
That's the kind of sitution where you allow the passenger to board in the interest of customer service.
They've lost a customer now, and airlines need all the money they can get, that market is a chipper shredder in price competition.

Couldn't have said it better myself!

so just because the airport was busy, they should of extended their window? thats like me going to a store and getting stuck in traffic and having the store close. things happen
I have flown United...never had a problem.
I have flown from Dulles...never had a problem.
Maybe you should be a bit more understanding, stuff happens, its over and done with...are you still losing sleep over it? If not, then stop thinking about it.
And I highly doubt your experience is going to make United lose so much money over one customer...and regardless of how the market is, every flight I have taken in the past few months has been sold out. So actually, the market is still going with or without your business.
Oh i could care less right now... but they weren't in fact very busy. The second flight i left when i was out going was 1/2 filled. So i would assume the one i was suppose to be on was about the same or less.

My meaning is that their internal system should have been intelligent enough to tell them that passenger x was on a flight that was arriving late, and would need additional time to reach the plane.
If it had been a matter of say 30 minutes arriving late, there's no way they could have held the plane. But you can't say that 2 minutes late with the plane still on the ground that its too much to let a single passenger on board.
This is however a matter better taken up with the corporate office as a complaint, the person at the gate shouldn't be blamed as their forced to follow policy.
