If there is a problem with all these forsale post than make a point of it to say make a For Sale forum on this site. there are alot of people tryin to sell stuff and I feel that would be an easier way to do it since the classifieds dont work as well. more people look at the different forums and not ads so I think it would be alot easier on the moderators and the consumer or the person"s" tryin to make the sale.

the problem is not that the for sale posts exist...the problem lies in people who make TONS of FS posts, when they only need one to sell their items, or in situations where someone gratuitously bumps the thread for no reason. if no one has shown interest, then no one is likely to show interest. that, i believe is the philosophy to which they are subscribing in this forum.

frankly, seeing the same threads bumped/recreated ends up pretty annoying.

We have a for sale section...it's called the Classifieds. For sale ads have been tolerated in the regional forums for awhile but they are simply getting out of control here.

When 20 of the 25 threads on the front page of the forum are for sale ads that's excessive. When some of those 20 threads are repeats, or the same person selling 5 different things, that's out of control. That's what we're trying to reign in.

A new forum just for "for sale" threads isn't an option, and that comes directly from Dave. A new solution is being worked on, but until it's in place we have to deal with things as they are. If you have suggestions as to what we could do, please post them in the "time to clean things up" thread...that's the one I keep tabs on.

I just think it would be easier to have a forsale thread for each region maybe say like in off topic how it has the 2 other ones for the premium members. Also I find it kinda hard when in the classified I can only put on 1 item cause I am not a premium member. If I had more money to spend I would be right now I am unemployed and times are getting exteremely tight.

I understand where your coming from. Personally people look here more, and if something comes up that I see on here and gains interest its nicer knowing its also local to me. If there was an edit feature maybe things would be easier, but I think its simple, just dont read it if your not interested. Its not like there are a million posts. If it worn't for the people selling stuff this place would be dead prolly!

if everyone in this forum would practice this habit, it would be appreciated...including those who preach it. there's a lovely thing called the back button...learn to use it.

the real problem, however, is the fact that any worthwhile events/etc are MISSED because of the influx of for sale posts. it's gotten increasingly worse over the past year and a half. more people are posting the same thread over and over, or are spreading their crap out over multiple threads when it's truly unnecessary. make one for sale post, and link it in your sig if you're that concerned with people seeing it.

OK since you insist on calling me out yet again when I have said nothing towards you. This is regional, if people want to post things here I PERSONALLY don't see the problem as I know several others don't. On forums like team-integra.net there is an edit button so people can add more, put sold etc. Then all people have to do is read the first post and decide if they want anything rather then having to go through several pages. Also I don't see much else posted here. That is another reason you see so many f/s ads!

Kim, i told you how you can speak with me if you want to continue bitching. i'm neither following you around, throwing things in your "face," nor trying to harass you. you made a VERY valid point, and i felt the need to recognize it (one of these days you'll see the difference...maybe) - your point was if you don't like what you read, hit the back button rather than whining, complaining, and moaning about a thread that doesn't really concern you.

as i said, there have been a few other threads made in this forum...events, etc...that end up on the second page before the day is through because of so many for sale ads. people DO need to learn to consolidate and post things in the same thread, rather than making multiple posts.

You also personally don't see the problem with jacking other people's threads to get your attention fix. You don't see the problem with posting THREE for sale ads in the space of less than an hour.

For the record, Laura was right. Practice what you preach and alot of your problems here won't even exist. ALSO for the record, Northeast USED to be a very active forum. When it started getting over-run by the Dundalk flea market, that's when most of the active posters retreated to their own club forums or to other forums here. The for sale threads are the PROBLEM, not the solution. We're just trying to figure out a way to accomodate everyone without dropping the ads altogether.

And finally, also for the record, I KNEW I should have locked this thread when I first replied to it.
