Alright I have a messed up situation with my car. It is a 99 body, 00+ motor and I think a 96-99 transmission. what I'm trying to find out is if a 00+ tranny will fit in the 99 body. It is a 99 z24. I've heard it wo'nt I've heard they will. I'm looking for some sorta confirmation.
And I've tried asking int he transmission forum and got not replies.
its the same engines... why wouldnt it fit?
i thought the 4t40e 4spd tranny was pretty much universal?
5 spd manual. I'm not sure if the mounting is the same in the car. I'm figuring it is, but I want to make sure before I go and buy a new transmission and find out I can't use it. And want to make sure the wire hook ups are the same.
i have a 95-99 tranny for sale
5 speed

They use different bellhousings and gear ratios. They are NOT the same.

Yea, the internals can be swapped out, but it's a PITA. but no, you can't bolt a 2.2 trans to a 2.4, period.
