Deleware Water Gap BBQ, Tubing, and Camping....
Wednesday, June 29, 2005 4:25 PM
Maybe we could all get together from August 20th to August 21st for an ovenight meet. Camping, BBQ and Tubing extravaganza!!! Camping and tubing wraped up into one....

That way, you NJ folk don't have to cross any bridges, and you Long Island folk don't have to drive home in the dark.....

What do you think?

I'd probably be down, have to see once more details are sorted out. Kittainny is a campground too right?

That looks like a cool place & a good price, mapquested 3 hours & 20 minutes from me. I'm going to bookmark it for later, but i doubt i'll be able to make this gathering. I'm pretty sure that falls either right at the end or in the middle of a week where i have a chance to get paid doubletime, so i can't give that up!

Just in case though, do you know how many people they let stay on one site? I tried to find it, but couldn't. Sites are pretty cheap as it is, but i'm curious

Once I see that there is an interest (20 or so) I'll see what pricing, group rates, and such apply.

Good luck getting even 10 that say they're interested, 5 that say they'll really show up and 3 that really will, that's the nature of the JBO & organized events The rates are so cheap though, i don't think that a group rate would really make that much of a difference. I'm not rolling in dough, so if i have no problem affording it, it's definately cheap

I had mapquested to the Kitattinny site, so mapquesting to the Dingman's Ferry site puts me now at 2 hours, 44 minutes. Not too bad of a drive. Are you sure there's camping at the Dingman's Ferry site? I can only find information on Kitattinny and River Beach. River Beach says that you can have up to 12 people per site, Kitattinny doens't say.

Any idea on pet policy? Their site doesn't have much information at all We'd need to bring our dog.

I'm here at work too and doublechecked the OT situation. It does fall up to this weekend, but ends Friday night. Would this be just a Saturday to Sunday thing?

That site has no info, heck their address is listed as Rr 2
I'm not a hiker either, figured i'd be more into hanging around the site playing cards & enjoying some smore's by a fire or something, but then again i'm not even sure that i'd go, so plan away with whatever

I guess I just don't have the energy to plan a group get together that won't "get it together." Plus, I received travel orders to Oklahoma City that will be on the weekend before, and I just won't be available to coordinate this with school stuff in my head.
