91 Z24 for sale parts or project car (cheap)
Monday, June 27, 2005 1:33 AM
I have a 91 Z24 cavalier for sale, only 58,000 on the motor, trans and body, and the body is near flawless minus 1 or 2 very small dings and the driver side corner of the hood has a small crack on the edge and the passanger side power window isnt on the track, but it is closed. I no longer have time or space to work on it so i have to sell it. The bottom end has to be rebuilt, which i didnt know when i did the top end or i would have taken the entire motor out. The bottom end needs a crankshaft, main bearings and connecting rod bearings, i did replace the connecting rod bearings, but the crank is worn so theres to much play in the bearing and it still makes some noise. I will not part it out i want to sell it as a whole. Im asking $800 but i will take reasonable offers, the car is inspected until 07/05 has new front brakes, 4 new tires, i replaced the lifters, valve seals, head gaskets, valley pan gasket, both valve cover gaskets, plenum gasket, both exhaust manifold gaskets, the coolant temp sensors and thermostat are new and the trans pan seal and filter are new and both the heads have been cleaned up and rebuilt, The car starts runs and drives

You can see the car in this picture in the left hand corner , i will take better ones tomorrow if anyone is interested. Thanks for looking

a 15 year old cavailer with a shot engine isnt worth 800, or even close to that.

I'd take it for $200, and you can keep the motor and trans. You'll be able to get far more money selling the new parts separately. In fact, I don't even want the tires.

The car didnt need all that stuff, i replaced it all so i could use it as my daily driver, the reason the connecting rod bearing went was because it was run with only 2 quarts of oil, thats why the crank is messed up. The lowest i will take it $350. The buyer can come pick the car up it also has a clean title and i have it in hand.

Borsty: a car is worth what someone will pay for it, this is the reason being in my post i stated or reasonable offers, i didnt say $800 firm read closer before you leave your opinion

You cant pull one out of the yard for that much, im trying to help some get a good car that needs alittle work, the work isnt hard to do, i just dont have the time or id do it myself or else i would. The price is more than right, most people pay, $150/$200 just for the Z kit, this is $350 for the whole car

Jarret: Id love to help you out but $200 i cant do, ive spend almost $700 so far just in parts. When it comes to the lowest ill go its $350, sorry man, i wish i knew you had a motor for sale cause i would have picked it up.

Borsty: thats not a high ball number, the car is worth that and i guess i have to sell it locally to get that, if someone has the time and the place they can have a great car for i few hundred dollars, you can get a new motor for a few hundred dollars, 3.1s are not hard to find and they are cheap and popular.

Well, I guess I'd pay $350 if I had a place to put it. But I don't, really.............. If you can't get rid of it for what you want for it, throw me an e-mail or give me a call. I might be able to work something out with you (like maybe some bartering for other parts or welding work + cash)
