thanks guys. that's exactly the major i'm looking for. i'm currently an automotive service major at alfred state college (suny alfred) but due to some vehicle vandalism issues (happening a lot on campus) that don't seem to be getting solved i'm trying to see if there are some other options so that maybe i can go someplace else to finish my schooling. plus mass is where my gf goes to school so it would be nice to shorten my trip down from 6 hours.
thanks again

fwiw, I went to school through GM's ASEP program... graduated with more GM training than dealer techs with 15 years on the job. Internship at a GM dealership is part of the program and usually leads to full time work, if wanted, at the same dealer upon graduation. I actually was able to get a job over the phone with a dealer 2000 miles away with the ASEP training.
I drove from Springfield, MA to North Haven, CT daily for 2 yrs (believe me, it was worth the time and money) to do it. That trip was about 2 hrs 1 way. North Haven is about 3.5 hrs from Boston area.
