I need a catback exhaust to pass inspection.. which I'm already past due for at this point. I don't want to pay a shop to have my @!#$ sounding mostly stock catback fixed. The shop I normally go to got into some trouble and wont be able to inspect for a few more months.. so I have to bring the car to a "legitimate" place. I know it won't pass with the clamp that's on it and places around here will charge like 75$ to fix it.. Looking for an aftermarket bolt-on exhaust, that will not need welding, that I can install in a hurry. Need to meet locally. Hoping someone has one lying around they will let go for cheap. It's a long shot but I figured I'd start here. I really don't want to put any money into the POS catback that's on it now.
What's wrong with the clamps? I've never had an issue with clamps before....
What state are you in?
NH (Southern).
It just doesn't seal 100%. I've never had good luck with them when I've used them temporarily.
Does NH require a perfect exhaust to pass inspection? I'm sorry I honestly don't know, but trying to think of a way to make you pass.
Can you pay someone like $30 to weld the clamp area? At like a Monro or something?
I had to have the same joint welded on my SS, just before the rear axel and they wanted 75$ at a local muffler shop.. I really don't want to spend 75$ to repair this exhaust, lol. Just seeing if I can find something else that will be less of a waste of money. If I have to, I will, but figured it was worth a shot.
75 bucks to do a weld...holy @!#$.
I had an entire 2.25 inch catback made here for 60 bucks.
jess hit up craigslist guy in rindge has a pacesetter catback for 125 bucks on there and its been for sale forever i bet he'd take a 100 no prob

Thanks Jeremy, Ill check it out right now.
I'm still rocking that beat looking stock catback you gave me a couple years ago when I pulled the turbo stuff off. lol.
$75? Holy @!#$ is right.
Wow.... I didn't realize they riped you off that bad for a quick little weld... Damn.
Im picking up the pacesetter catback that Jeremy mentioned was on craigslist, tonight.. now I just have to find someone that has a sawzall that can help me do the swap tomorrow night? any takers? haha.
bring it over. Ill do it.
Haha thanks anyways.
My uncle has a sawzall I'm going to borrow so I should be good now. Thank you all for your input, and Jeremy, thanks for the heads up on the exhaust Im picking up later.
Now I just gotta deal with my lack of strength and I should have it on by tomorrow night, lol.
Why does my Fiance have to be in Army Airborne School 1000 miles away right now? lol.
? as long as you dont have a cel and not a loud leak you should be able to pass in NH. its not like we have sniffers. So long as you have a muffler and most of you exhaust gases exit after the the last opening into the passenger compartment the exhaust will pass.

Not even.. could barely here it. They said any type of exhaust leak = fail.
