I didn't know where to put this question... if it belongs in another forum, i apologize... I read a lot about the J meets (im in the Northeastern US) and I want to know if these are open invites to anyone with a J? My '04 cavalier is pretty much stock, no major mods and isn't exactly a head turner like some of the Js I've seen on here. Quite simply, I don't have the money (damn this economy!) to do the mods I want, nor do I have the know-how to get everything together without it coming out half-assed. Yes, Im a newbie, though I understand that mods should be done once, done right without too many cost-cutting shortcuts. I despise cheap looking mods on cars.
I would really like to meet some of the veterans and other members on this site in person, hear some opinions and maybe make some friends. If the meets are an exclusive kind of thing, please spare me because I dont want to show up and get laughed at because my cav isnt exactly perfect. There arent many modded Js around here, just street racing fast and furious @!#$s, who I despise, and old guys who hang out at the diner with their old chevys and cadilliacs who dont have much love for an econobox chevy. I love these cars, this is my third, and this site proves that cavaliers can eat civics (and many other cars) for breakfast with the right mods.

If you ever feel like making the trip to the greater philadelphia area, I host local meets every month, and anyone is welcome to join, regardless or how much or how little is done to their J's...hell, even non j bodies are welcome. Keep an eye on the northeast forum each month for details on my KGM meets...this month is scheduled for july 24th, though it probably changing to july 31st instead. And I'm sure numerous people here will gladly offer you a couch to crash on for the night if you'd want.

Im just above Scranton PA and usually hang out with the Scranton/Wilkesbarre tuner crowd. There are few tasteful Js in NEPA, but i dont have a problem being the only cav. I actually rag on myself for driving it that others do.
Also look for Jersey GM(JGM) meets. I try to attend a few JGM and/or KGM meets/events threw-out the year.

I actually live about 45 minutes north in the boondocks, but spend a decent amount of time in the Clarksummit/Dickson City area. I try to run the local "Sunday night Sonic cruise" every other sunday(its every week, but i work every other weekend). We cruise from Dickson City to the Sonic next to the Wyoming Valley Mall in Wilkesbarre and usually get down there around 8:30-9 and stay till ~10:30-11. There usually is a good turnout of tuners, but not many Js.

Never really go to PA that much... Used to drive through it taking 17 up to Fredonia to see my dick-loving whore ex at school. Not a whole lot to see, but I might take take a trip out there to see the tuners you were talking about. Can't be any worse than the Newburgh/Middletown tuners

In NY, as long as the booze is in a paper bag, you wont get a problem, but thats NY.
