the motor in my friends Z24 cavalier blew today. is anyone selling a 2.4l motor for a 2002 cavalier. looking for under 100k miles on the motor.
I have a blown 2.4 with 74,000 miles. Easily repairable. If your interested. 100 bucks and its yours. engine trans, harness, ecu. everything. accessories. radiator if you want it.
ill let no what happens. we found a motor with 88k on it for 600. we are thinking of just buying a parts car with a eco in it and drop that motor in it. every junkyard we have called told us good luck trying to find that motor there junks.
They are right! at one point i have 4 cars out front of my house, all with the 2.4. 3 of them had a blown motor. All vehicles had less than 100,000 miles on it too!
we took the car to the shop today and she blew the bottom end of the motor. they are putting in a motor with 80k on it for 1600 with labor. we are going to have them change all the gaskets on it spark plugs and wires new coolant and have them look at her clutch since the car will be apart.

Same here. I have one that has 126,000 miles on it. running strong. But another one i have only had 74,000 and threw a rod bearing.
drew, is your 2.4 from 00+ or before?
thats what they think hers did was throw a rod bearing. we where going to have a ecotec put in the car but the shop said its to much work and to just put another 2.4 in it. she wants to turbo this one so now im trying to find out all the stuff i need to turbo it for her.

dave i have Two complet ld9 all parts too just sitting. one from a 2000 with 50k, a second from a 2000 with 76k on them minor issues. imma prob tear into them next weekend think the one slipped the chain. but full swap everypart needed. drew has already stipped the idc cover n pack and the accessories on his.
