Real men dont need help, Ive done turbo setups on 3 different cars by myself
If I didnt have a bunch of @!#$ to do myself and helping a buddy of mine I mighta came up. Good luck man!

Yep, i was busy all weekend.
Things I learned this weekend....
1. Never buy a used turbo
2. Never buy a "homebrew" kit
3. Never have a deadline or time limit trying install a turbo.
4. Do not do said install 100 miles away
5. Never risk messing up the driveability of your daily driver that is your only car
6. Never boost a car that isn't already so from the factory
1989 Turbo Trans Am #82, 2007 Cobalt SS G85
Tons of fitment issues, massive sleepyness, shortage of the right parts and worst of all once completed only to find the turbo was bad and pouring out burned oil smoke

matt it's mainly because of the subframe differences, and we had all the right parts... neither mike or myself knew the turbo was bad
Matt, mikes a good guy, he's actually a little bothered by what happened and has promised to fix it, so I am confident things will work out. Even if I bought a hahn kit there would have been fitment issues

Aftermarket parts = fitment issues
Anyone that mods cars know this is a certain truth, its just frustrating
Glad your sticking with it though, that thing did look badass all hooked up in there

Haha I didn't think i'd hear 6 from you! But yea i agree with not buying a used turbo, TOTALLY agree with not having a deadline/time limit for the install especially if it incapacitates your DD. Just don't agree with 6 - that's where the fun is when you get results

1. Every turbo Ive bought has been used
2. I bought a partial kit off another auto z and made it work
3. A few guys should be able to knock it in a day or so, when I did mine on my car by myself it took 3 days working a few hrs a day outside in the rain and wind soo bad it was blowing my cf hood down.
4. This I agree
5. I agree somewhat, just have a backup car while install cause you will need to make trips to the parts store and what not. But...my car is 100% daily driven and has been sc'd, sc'd with nitrous, and turbo for about 12k miles all on stock 106k motor.
6. Whats the fun in that
Just a though, but did you guys prime the oil system to get some oil flowing through the turbo before starting? How about the oil lines they werent kinked or anything were they? Both of which could have caused the seals to blow instantly. If the turbo feels tight jut get a $30 rebuild kit and youre set.
Oh, and I want pics! lol
yes we primed, started 4 times without fuel pump relay in to raise oil pressure, as well as the lines were not kinked
