As title says, looking to buy a 2.4 engine and transmission. Transmissino is a must, Engine is an extra. I have a 1998 Z24 and it needs to be manual.

I live in 04976 I have a manuel 5 speed trans and 2.4L twin cam from a 2000 that I am swapping out for a 2.2L ecotec. The engine has a nock in it, I am thinking its a lifter no idea though. there is 98k on both. I'll sell both to you for 250.
iwould need the wiring harness and im sure other things if i went higher than the year 1999.
I don't know about the differences in the years, but you could have my wireing harness as I am putting an ecotec one in. Again I don't know much about going from your gen of cavalier to mine, but just a thought.
yea the 95-99 have an isuzu tranny then 2000+ have a getrag diffrent mounts, clutch, and flywheel.
im headed toi the ny ct line this weekend i could go a little further mabey let me know man i also got a spec stage two clutch with only like A thousand miles on it to if interested.
i wont be able to do it this weekend. as im goign to the junkyard tomorrow to see what i find. its like 15mins away and only $45 for a tranni. so its not bd at all. just figured id look on here first
ray, do you know if you can put a getrag transmission on a 1998 Z24 block. because isnt it the same motor, just different accesories, or something.
it wont fit because even if its from a 2.4 the tranny mounts to the car diffrently. the mounts,cables,shifter,clutch, and fly wheel all changed from 99 to 2000+. its a stronger tranny but u will need all the stuff and weld in the diffrent mounts.
