i am in a car club (we just started last year) called Jersey Rydes and i am the ONLY J-body there.... wondering if there are any people within a reasonable drive of sussex county, nj who would be interested in joining. only rule to get in is you must have 3 modifications to your car, and add 3 more every year... couple other rules and bilaws but pretty lax. even if your not interested in the club id still like to see your cars!!!!

Check out Jersey GM if you want a club with other cavs in it. I have meet a few of them and they are very nice people(from what i remember, i was pretty drunk).

Sussex county, isnt that in upstate Jersey? I would be kosher hanging out with fellow tuners(as long as they have their heads on straight). I wont join. The 3 mod a year wouldnt be a problem, but i'd rather do my own thing.

FYI
I've zero interest in joining a group that dictates that I MUST make mods to my car to even join and then I MUST add 3 more each year?!?!

What is this High School ? Peer Pressure? Some car gang where you've all got to wear the same color or get the same tattoo?

No Thanks, Enjoy your time there though.

Nothing to do with feelings, just a really stupid rule for a club to have. Sure encourage tinkering with your car and giving it personality and individuality but to mandate doing so to belong?

Are you all going to drink the red Koolade if Rev Jones tells you to?

i agree, theres no telling where rules like this would lead to. next thing it would roll down into sports and you would have football teams making practice mandatory and soccer teams making it mandatory that you show up to games on time. then the business world where companies would make it mandatory for you to show up on time, and do your work, this will lead to the downfall of society.

look we get it, you dont understand it. but there are car clubs out there that want to be known as having the best cars and to win as a team and to win club awards, you can't do that if you just take every car off the street.

to the origonall poster, id say dont worry about other j's as long as you get along with the guys in the club who cares that they have diffrent cars. be happy your car is an individual car in your club and not the same exact brand and model as every other person in your club.

Exactly. Last year if i wanted to cruise with friends i had to go with 2 F-bodies.

As for the 3 mod rule. It is a double edged knife. It could leave you guys with a club full of really nice cars, but it could also leave you guys with a bunch of hacked together heaps of @!#$. Just doing mods to keep the "hey i'm in a club status" doesn't produce nice cars. Have you guys thought about what happens when a car gets finished?

most clubs have similar rules. this is nothing new.

however, those clubs are usually legit clubs that don't go recruiting on forums for just anyone.

ok first of all no this is not high school or peer pressure. it is a bunch of local guys with different ideas and skills and if you want to be in the club u must do 3 ods a year until the car is "done". in realit when it comes to modding cars u are never 'done" bc there is aways something to be done.
second of all we are a new club and looking for members. its not like we take just anybody but the idea of the mod rule is to inspire our fellow mebers to do what we love to do and utilize each other to help. we obviously have our issues as any club would but if you dont like the rule than DONT JOIN. until you are reasonably close to finishing your car u are considered a prospect and once u have it close enough to be "show worth" you are initiated. these rules just came into play and honestly most people would probably laugh at us because most of our cars are not that special. we just lost a lot of members and im pretty much coming on here to see if there is anybody interested in checking us out.

yes tinkles sussex county is NORTH jersey.. my house is literally 15 minutes from either pa or ny.. (milford/port jervis). also thank you tinkles for being one of the few people that are on here to help out us newcomers..

PS i posted this because I would like to see more j bodies in the club.... it is not the club on here posting. just me. a prospect.

We got some chicks knocked up the last time we were up there. Like a hundred of them. Some are still in wheelchairs.

well we have a 94 eclipse that u cant even tell is an eclipse it is so heavily modded.. we have a really nice rsx, a 79 chevelle malibu, a pimped dodge pick up, a stang, a couple hondas, one of the hondas is trading in for a thunderbird supercoupe soon. honestly we only have 1-2 show worthy cars... the eclpise just needs paint and a little bit more fiberglassing on the interior and than it will be 3. but like i said we all do stuff every year and most of us have already gone beyond the 3 mod rule. i hate to be the one to say it but were really more of a car enthusiast group as of right now than a club... but were striving for the club and working hard for it.
