Help me find a shop - Reading PA
Thursday, April 23, 2009 3:40 AM
Hey guys - I'm looking for a "lick and stick" inspection/emissions station in or near Reading PA. I know there out there or people wouldnt be running catless, tinted, ect.
Please PM me the name and location of the shop to avoid defamation
Also, I'm aware you cant "lick and stick" an emissions sticker - my car will pass the OBDII testing, but I don't want to have to deal with any other b/s like I did at Eisenhaurer Nissan last year - "hairline cracks on the rear pads"

obd2 cars on have a visual inspection for emissions and inspection has to inspect everything if your check engine light isnt on then just take it anywhere and im sure you will get passed

I know it will pass and that's part of the problem (although it shouldn't be)

History: I took the car last year to Eisenhaurer NIssan because i had a coupon. Prior to that my bro always did it. They had the car for like an hour and a half for an inspection (not counting emissions) and they come back and tell me i need 250% worth of rear brake work because my pads have hairline cracks. It was complete b/s and i know they were doing it to make money. I want to avoid that.

There is a shop in Pheonixville, I have to get in touch with my buddy for the name...but the guy there has been inspecting my buddies Del Sol for a few years without the car ever leaving his driveway.

Since my car is registered in Berks county, don't i have to have it inspected in Berks? I don't know I'm just asking. I thought i had this problem before when I was in montgomery county.

it's actually for both cars. I maintain both of them, and i know when they need tires, brakes, ect. I don't need to be milked by some shop for inspection because "times are tough", such as 100$/hr for changing rear brake pads that have hairline cracks (/sarcasm). I'll pay for the inspection and sticker, but I'm not replacing Johnson rods or changing my exhaust fluid, ect Know what I mean?

Sorry you've had problems in the past! I've never had a problem not passing & my husband maintains all of our cars. There's a bunch of random shops in the Lancaster area that'll do it no problem. Easiest would be NTB on Manheim Pike right by Park City. It's first come, first serve, so if you can show up first thing when they open you're in & out in an hour or so.

rush limbaugh on his radio show said that he was charged to pass inspection because a divertier valve and pump went bad on his car. He knows now that such a $800 dollar pump and valve do not exist, you come to your own conclusion...

Nope no check engine light. It's got new brakes within the past year and good tires. I just don't want to be in the position of a shop trying ot screw me.

It's kinda like I'll do my part and maintain the car, and the mechanic can get paid for slapping on a sticker. I may hit you up scott...
