LD9 4T40E Auto Trans for sale. Philly, PA

Hey all,

I have an automatic transmission out of my 97 2.4 for sale.

It has approx 95k on it.

I've never had a transmission problem with it & it had a filter & fluid change about 5k ago. I used Mobil1 ATF.

I swapped over to a manual transmission last year & this is just taking up space...

Open to offers- Must come pick up. Located in Chester, PA 19013.

Thanks.

You said you converted your auto to a manual. How hard was it and how long did it take you. I'm thinking of doing the same.

TheDark1: I see them all the time going for several hundred... I would say $200 obo.

Headthumper:
The auto to manual swap is not hard, but you have to make sure everything is right & you need a list of parts... The hardest part is cutting the transmission mounts from the donor car & welding them in the exact same spot on your car. After you grind the auto mounts off of course... You may be able to purchase manual mounts from GM depending on the trans. Turbo Tech Racing used to sell one of the front mounts- prob still do..

Its best to get a whole donor car, or at least front clip.

You need the trans (duh), engine wiring harness, manual ECU, clutch pedal assem., master cylinder assembly, manual flywheel, clutch, shifter assembly, shifter cables. Helps to have the same year donor car, that way you dont have to worry about the engine sensors not matching up (knock sensor).

You also need to remove most of the dash to mount the new clutch pedal. The auto brake pedal can be cut down to the manual size & just switch the pedal cover over. You need to drill a large hole in the firewall for the clutch. If you look closely at your firewall on the drivers side, to the right of the brake booster, you can see a small "hump" on the seam weld that runs about 6" from the top of the bay. This is where the hole needs to be drilled... Prob about a 1" hole.

Any other questions, feel free to contact me through PM- I'd like to try and keep this post on topic. THANKS!

@ rodimus:

Nope.

After you left, I pretty much parked the car and forgot about it....

It needs a few items, but I have a couple other projects going on... I got a new garage buddy & he is real good @ tuning & stuff... We're going to lose the whole commanded AFR problem & just write a tune from scratch...
