Any interest in a semi-project Cav?

I have a 2002 Chevy Cavalier LS. 5 speed coupe. Power everything. Sunroof. 57k miles. Indigo blue. Will come with a spare 95-99 z24 rear bumper, already painted blue & a spare fiberglass shaved trunk if wanted.

It is at my father's house over an hour away and I dont have the time for it anymore. I am selling my two cars for one car. I need to leave the modding scene for personal reasons. The biggest being that I do not own my own house, thus I do not have a place to store & work on my car.

My Cavy was turboed for almost 7k miles. The first block blew from a seized wrist pin and I put a new block in it. This block only has about 500 turbocharged miles on it. When I put this one in I replaced the stock oil pump with a stronger better flowing one, put in stronger lifters & put in a heavier cam. (check profile for list of modifications done).

I JUST de-turboed it, put on maybe 15 miles miles and my thermostat went out and the car over-heated. I brought it back to my dads. Came back a week later, put in a brand new thermostat and now the car doesnt want to run. It started right up at first, idled fine, acted flawless, I shut it off to "top off" the coolant and make sure it was ready for the 1 1/2 hr trip home... When I went to start it back up it didnt want to turn over and catch. It tried but just couldnt stay running more than a rotation or two. We finally got it to stay running after revving it up at first, got it back to a steady idle and when we went to rev it a lil to see how it reacted, it cut right off.

I am guessing that when it over heated, the head got warped and the cylinders are flooding. Unfortunatly I don't have all the tools I need at my dads and didn't have a spark-plug puller to pull the plugs and check the cylinders. I can't verify exactly what is happening. But I can assure it wouldnt be a hard fix. At most, it needs a new head, which I have, when I turboed it I pulled the stock one off and put the modded one on. My spare head has 50k miles on it, was pulled off in perfect running order, and has never seen boost. At the most this car just needs some labor time. To get it back on the road. I could easily fix it in a weekend if I had it in my own garage. I just don't have the time nor motivation to make that drive to work on it. I've had this car for 5 years, since it had 15k miles on it, I dont want to get rid of it, but it's time.

I have it running on a stock tune now that it's N/A, with a modified injector constant rto adjust to the 36# injectors. I was going to make some slight adjustments to the fuel trims on my way home.. but It didn't make it that far. If someone buys it, I am willing to help tune it with my HPTuners and make any adjustments needed. I want to see the car run good. I just dont have the time anymore.

Even while turbo'd the car really wasn't "beat" on. Ask my bf. I rarely boosted it. It was fast as hell when I did. I just was weary of down-time, since I dont have a place to work on it, so I didn't want to break it, lol.

Worst case, its a great shell for an engine swap. Clean title, never been in an accident.

Make me an offer. I will let it go for pretty cheap. I just need to get rid of it. My dad might be moving soon and since I rent, I have no place to put it..

Do you have the stock crap for it? To make it back into an LS or still all cavfireish? How far from stock is it exterior wise, dont care about engine. I sold my 05 for 4200$ yay. Also where you located?

GRATZ!!

I am in southern NH

I traded the Cav front for the Fire front. I have access to the stock SE Sunfire front bumper but it isnt painted. The RK sport front has some damage from when the car was put on a dolly. It also has the custom welded OEM hood (painted black). That is an easy trade for stock one tho. It has the stock trunk with ls wing & everything, I just still have the fiberglass one on at the moment.

I will let it go for pretty cheap, I just need to get it out of my dad's house.

I will include every single spare part I have for it.

If I owned a house and had a garage to put it on, the car wouldn't be going anywhere. Just too stressful trying to figure out where I can work on it when I need to do something whether voluntary or involuntary lol

hmmm...i wish i had someplace you could keep it to work on it...sucky reason to get rid of it, but also a necessary move to make for now it seems...oh well...

Any pics that show the trunk/wing, semi-disregard. I will have the stock indigo trunk on it with the stock LS wing. If wanted I will include the fiberglass trunk as well thats shown in pics. however, no SS wing.

Its real dirty in these pics but here you go, most recent ones. (Also, fenders appear like they are lacking some shine, they still have some buffing compound on them, they weren't finished being polished).

UPDATE

Turns out the problem I was having was due to bad gas. I last filled it up, last summer, before I stopped driving it, and there is only a 1/4 of a tank in there so it had to have some moisture build up. The car has been starting up and running/idling fine for my dad whos driven it around his driveway and in & out of the garage. It still has 1-step colder spark plugs in it, it will help to put OEM plugs back in, which I will do, for a lil bit of a hotter spark.

The car could still use a LIL bit of aTLC but it will be a good lil car, especially for someone that wants a sexy lil J... it won't take much

New alternator, brand new battery, brand new GM thermostat, clutch only has at most 20k on it (factory pressure plate had a defect, so clutch/pressure plate was replaced early-on).

I will be including all my parts I have for it, including a spare stock engine-head that only has 50k on it, and no problems (took it off to put the built one on).

2500 OBO... LS Cavalier, power everything, sunroof, everything works perfect, only 57K on it. This is a deal..
