WTS/WTT M45 '00 Z24 $3000

I'm lazy:
Will trade for RWD V8 manual car, high miles IS ok. I know, I can dream on but I can ask :p
Or sell outright.
Cliffs notes:
M45 + other mods
127k miles
Tired of FWD, even though this is a fun car
Phone in post, text or call
Located in Columbus, IN and Indy
Pics

Unabridged:
CraigsList

CL copy/pasta

Asking $3000

'00 Z24 Coupe 5-speed w/ GM performance parts M45 supercharger

127,xxx Miles

Takes about a 1/2-3/4 quart between changes (by 5 qt, put in 4.5 at change, the rest at 1500 miles, then full change at 3000 and youre fine) -- blowby from having the supercharger apparently (gets picked up in a catch can in the vacuum lines)

Runs like a scalded dog (reliable too, it's currently driving 100 miles per day)

26-32mpg interstate (depends on traffic and foot weight)

Options:

A/C

Cruise

Sunroof

Z24 fog lights

Extras:

Brand spankin' new windshield (stupid rock chips)
58 mm throttle body (courtesy of DarkFox on quad4forums)
Stainless OBX Header
Full 2.5" exhaust (including 2.5" in/out high-flow cat)
Rear disk neon conversion
17" 5zigen wheels w/ KDW's (pictured)
15" steelies w/ Blizzaks (not pictured)
Poly engine mounts
Ebay short shifter
MOMO aluminum brake/clutch pedal covers
Pioneer MP3 CD head unit
Crossovers for door flush mount tweeters
De-badged
Wingless
Carbon fiber decorative strip on the rear

Issues:

Theft light stuck on (I broke my old ignition tumbler, bought a used one off of here and its chip is broken, still haven't ponied up the $250 for a new stealership part, a boneyard dive might get you one cheaper if you can find it), but has otherwise caused no issues. (previous owner told me he disabled VATS with HPTuners)

CEL came on over the winter, Autozone code reader pulls the "bad cat" code (could be O2, or the cat could be shot, but it runs fine so I haven't messed with it)

A/C quit on me last summer, I think its electrical (one of the pressure sensors in the A/C system). Have plans on fixing this spring, just didn't care over the winter.

Other than that, it's got the typical wear and tear on a 100k+ mile car.

Before you tell me that the number is high, come over and drive it. If you still think I'm asking too much, make me an offer and we'll talk

Will trade for: 94+ Mustang GT 5 speed or 93+ F-body V8 6 speed (high miles is OK as long as its reliable -- and I know, fat chance trading a Cav for a muscle car, but can't hurt to ask). Fox body GTs OK if it's nice (no offense, not my favorite body style, but if it drives nice I can forgive the looks)

Definitely gonna miss it, but even a good cavalier gets old after you're in it for 2+ hours a day EVERY day.

Sundown, it'll probably have to be sometime tomorrow or over the weekend, I don't have anything current I can toss up.

PM if you want my cell, I can catch up with anyone in between indy and columbus on the way home easy (I65 straight down).

Video

Real short video from this morning. Requested interior pics will be added to the PB album after I get some time tonight.

Sorry about the crappy audio quality, digicam mic isn't so great, and since my video capture card died I can't use my good video cam.

Let me know if you're wanting something else or longer or whatever (can do youtube once I get home, can't youtube from work).

Definitely an upstream O2 sensor (it's original to the car). The cat was only a couple months old when I sold you the car. Also, the exhaust is v-banded to help teardown:

One more thing. The neon brake conversion has $180 EBC 3GD black anodized drilled/slotted rotors that don't rust all nasty.

Good luck with the sale. I'd buy back the car in a heartbeat provided I had the means to do so at the moment. I miss it dearly.

Completely off topic...but your old Camaro is beginning it's heart transplant this week:

hawtness on the ls1.

You better be planning a T56 with that and not the autotragic that came with...

Not desperate to sell, as I do enjoy driving (the snot out of) it, but I seriously shouldn't have let you have my 'maro

Upstream O2 not down? (before cat?)

I think there is a spare one in the parts you gave me with it.

The more I think about it, I believe I did put in a downstream O2 sensor too. You can see the very edge of the cable in front of the hushpower II picture. Since it's giving a bad cat code, it's obviously the downstream. Ignore what I said earlier

Off-topic again (sorry!) - The T56 is junk, just like the V6 T5 is junk. They both shatter very easily and upgrades are stupid expensive to get it done properly. I'm going to eventually swap to a 4l80e, which is uber strong compared to the stocker 4l60e, but I'll do that as I break things. The rear will eventually get a midwest chassis fab 9 as well. The ls1 will eventually get 317 heads, a decent cam, arp rod bolts, head studs, ls6 oil pump, blah blah blah.......and then I'll turbo the beotch.

Hows the clutch?

Does the entire tumbler need replaced or does it just need a new chip in the key?

Are you sure that the A/C problem is just electrical or is the compressor shot?

Re: WTS/WTT M45 '00 Z24 $3000
Monday, March 22, 2010 5:10 PM
Clutch seems just fine, no slippage, even engagement and all that. Supposedly it only had 40k miles on it when I got the car, so that puts it between 80k and 90k miles (and for the last year, 500 miles a week 99% interstate).

I am honestly not absolutely certain about the A/C, I figure if I still have it this summer I will have had the Fiero fixed so the cav can be down for a couple of days to get looked at. (Not been to the shop. I fiddled with it one afternoon and got the clutch to engage, but no cold air).

AFAIK it still has its freon (not that that means anything about the compressor).

For the tumbler, probably just the chip would do it. I should have swapped it from my old tumbler (accidentally stuck in the wrong key and broke a tooth off when I extracted it) but didn't think that far ahead. I'm not even sure you can without breaking it...

I can see to it that I am close to cinci with it for you this weekend if that helps (in-laws live in Trenton).

Feel free to call my cell anytime before 10 in the evening too.
