Anybody with a Z24 and is AUTO will you do me a favor and unplug your cam sensor and let the car run? Also, take it for a quick spin to see if it shifts ok and what not. Let me know what you found out. I would reall appriciate it!!

David it will run and shift fine. If my z24 was running I would gladly run this for you, to double check.

Really? damn that is so good news. I would ike to know 100% if someone could drive the car around to make sure before I put my cams back in the car.
Hopefully someone else can test it out for me.

What happens if you unplug the cam sensor while the engine is running?
Nothing. A malf code will set, but as long as you don't kill the engine it'll keep running perfectly (assuming the crank sensor is good.) Once you kill it though, it won't start again.
just what i found with a quick google search
Thanks Stephen, damn that's weird it wont start back up if you kill it.

itll start back up just fine. i kill mine all the time.
i was more hinting that it may cause a no-start. I know if the crankshaft position sensor is unplug it wont start but not 100% on camshaft.
