For Sale:
Ecotec Motor
roughly
30k miles on it, came out a rolled vehicle but ran when the motor was pulled. Came from someone in Portsmouth, Ohio.
I bought it from a very trustworthy friend in 2006, when i still had plans of direct motor swap when i had my '00 convertable Z24.
The motor itself has been stored and kept in a dry place. It is missing a few odds and ends that he never got for it, like the intake manifold and throttle body, nothing super hard to come by
ebay used motors are going for $600-$800, seen a few on CL for around $600-$700 (not counting shipping, if applicable).
Looking to get $500-$600,
Local pick-up only, unless you would like to divy out the cost for shipping. lol I'm sure it'd be freight and $150 or more for the shipping. Possibly interested in a trade as well, looking for a '99-'01 2.2. OHV with low miles on it to rebuild and turbo. Would take that motor plus $100-$200 as a trade pending on condition and milage.
The motor hasn't been ran or used in 3 going on 4 years. I'd rather see this put to good use, than think i'll financially afford a full Eco swap on my '99 ANYTIME soon. Woudl be great for a rebuild, or a replacement motor for unlucky happenings.

so you would want an ohv motor plus cash??
Either cash $500-$600, or a trade plus a little cash (I'm open to the possibilities of that, yes.)
But I don't wouldn't be interested in a motor that was removed non-problem free running. Looking for a 2200 to build, so if a piston ring went in it and scored the cylendar wall, or rods broke casuing havok inside the motor, i'd probably not be interested in it.
But if there's nothing wrong with it, I'd consider it plus some cash.

damn someone pick up this eco, 500 is nothing compared to what you have to pay for other motors.

for that price does it come with tranny too?
ECU? any of that?
i have a 2000 2200sfi with only 72,000 or somthing like that on it.
but its in my cavalier now. lol.
i love how cheap eco motors are compared to LD9's..... You can get 60k motors for 300-400ish everywhere gah!
*shrug* i just based a price off of a craigs list/ebay search for the core motor guys. That's about all i can do, I paid More than that for it and all it has done is sit in a weather proofed shed/shop for almost 4 years. Being i lost my job now, I can't really be too picky about getting rid of things for a cheaper price to just get rid of it. Sorry that the economy's @!#$. lol

u got ripped off man. for JUST AN ENGINE you paid OVER $600?????
i can go to a pull-a-part, and get an ECO engine with 30-60,000 miles on it, the tranny for it, the ECU and other computer stuff needed, and the complete wiring harness for like $6-700ish man!!!!
if someone offers you 400 i would take it.
becuase mot people can get this motor for about $250-300ish at the junk year...even with those kinda miles.
yeah if you would let it go for like 250 i would prolly come and pick it up this weekend.
@!#$ low ballers.
if you can get one so cheap then do it.
bump for a good guy
im sick of all the low ballers on here. if you can go find it for such cheap prices then why dont you go do that. stay out of this guys thread stirring up @!#$. this guy needs money and your taking away from potential sales. if someone is willing to buy the motor at that price then let them. if not then he will not make the sale.
No shizit....
A long block eco for under $700... Not a bad deal.
Sure you can pick up a 2200 OHV for 250-300 because those are throw away motors. The LD9 300-500 depending on miles and condition... the Eco is still a somewhat "newer" motor. Its a current motor in a lot of GM cars. Thus for the price for them is going to be higher.
Lets just put it this way, what all the import guys are paying for motors, (even a d16y7 set up on a honda) this is a steal! Don't sit and complain about prices.... As stated before, if you can get the motor at a lower cost, STFU and go buy one... If you are trying to rip off this big Teddy Bear Troll ( ^_^ ), who as he stated, just lost his job (which explains why my Bengals Buddy hasn't been around during the game!), then you need to reconsider your morals in life.
