is it legal for motorcycle cops to park there bikes on peoples sidewalks that are in front of poeples houses, and wait for speeders to come up over a hill and have them pull to the side to get ticketed?? ...i can understand if they were parked on the street or something, but come on, they are HIDING in a valley of two hills ON A PERSONS SIDEWALK HIDDEN BY LIGHT TREES, waiting to ticket people...i know in some areas i guess sidewalks are part of city property...but come on, is that really fair? ...if my car hangs into the sidewalk....like it did at my girlfriends the one day...they give me a ticket "for blocking the sidewalk, which is ment for handicapped people.] ....what handycapped person is going for a stroll down the sidewalk at 1:03 am??? [time of ticket] ....next time i see them parked on the sidewalk, i think i mite make a phone call to the police station to make a complaint that i am a handicapped citizen trying to walk down the sidewalk, but there is a couple of motorcycles blocking my way.....what do you guys think about this situation?

Simple solution, obey the traffic laws and it wont matter if they are parked on city property or not.

Yeah, city usually owns the sidewalks, although if you don't shovel the sidewalk in front of your house someone could slip and fall, then sue you. That's never made sense to me.

Anyway, buy a radar detector. A good one, not some cheapo pos from Best Buy. I bought mine and it's paid for itself many MANY times over.

I think he got a Parking Ticket not a speeding ticket. Either way you're SOL since a law is a law.

If i'm not mistaken it is illegal to park a motorcycle on a sidewalk ANYWHERE in Ohio. That rule would also apply to police vehicles, unless they are responding to an emergency call. Sitting watching traffic and finding people to ticket is not an emergency response.

Only thing you could really do about it is to get a picture of a cop doing this... maybe even a video. Go down to the police station, and tell them that you wish to write the cop a ticket.
