1997 Pontiac Sunfire GT - 2.4l/auto trans
Location: Yorktown, VA
145k on body, 8k on reman. 2.4l, 45k on rebuilt 4T40E

Tossed her up on craigslist this morning and figured I'd share with the .org.

I've just moved down here to VA and have taken on a newer vehicle so unforunately I'm faced with selling this car. The car itself has 145k on the body, only 8k on a brand-new reman. 2.4l engine and 45k on a rebuilt trans. The receipts for both of these total $3,3xx alone. The drivetrain is needless-to-say very solid. This also goes for the rest of the car. I've just replaced the suspension with that off of a low-mileaged 2005 Sunfire, both front and rear brakes were done this past year, and before making the commute down here from Michigan I've replaced both front wheel bearings, upgraded front swaybar bushings, and had an alignment performed. I have receipts for all of this. The body is in expected condition for a 12 year-old car. I've cleaned it up quite a bit since my purchase only a little over a year ago and have clearly did a lot of repairs and maintenance. It is solid! The car is very basic, DOHC 4 cylinder, automatic transmission, no power options. I've upgraded the CD player to a Kenwood with an aux. on the front for iPod etc., I also installed JVC 6.5" front speakers so it sounds great. The car currently has bronze Z24 wheels with good tires on it. Also has a warm-air intake to better gas mileage and clean up the engine-bay. HID headlights can also be included which are excellent at night, this is a real HID kit with ballasts and 12k bulbs, these are not Autozone special blue bulbs. Please contact me if you have any questions. $2,200 OBO!

Enjoy.

Currently using my roommate's tC while he's out on deployment. Still haven't found employment, the 'fire has sat and I've just pulled insurance off of it. Just going to continue employment hunt and cross my finger's on picking something up before he returns .

I've also forgot to mention it has the GM front STB and Prothane upper insert installed.

The Sunfire is a great commuter, I stress that, but she is a 12 year old car and has the typical wear as expected.

A place semi-local to me back at home in Michigan. They deal with Engine-Pro.

Pretty impressed, everything went without an issue and she fired up on the first try and has since racked 8k on her including my straight-thru 15 hour drive from Michigan down here to VA.

If the car was up here in MI I'd have my cousin buy it, her car is toast....

Good luck Joe...

I can definitely vouch for the engine install. I know a guy who helped put the engine in and I hear he's one hell of a mechanic.

Thanks fellas, it's a good deal considering money invested for sure but I'd never find buyers straying as far from KBB as I should be so I kept it reasonable.

It's funny I listed this car yesterday on here and CL is gained more interest than any of my previous J's. Must be the economy. I do have a couple people showing really genuine interest though and don't see owning it much longer.

Sorry bro, not anytime close, probably not until June at the earliest.

Thanks again.

Blower motor will also be replaced. It's been making some loud noises the past month. I drove it last week and it worked fine, went to return home, nothing, drove 2 miles and it worked again. Today I fired her up and it would vary speed and sound. Shot!

Had a JBO member interested but it sold locally to a guy looking for a cheap, reliable car for his daughter.

It had quite of bit of interest, so hey .

As much as he may say he will never own another J, I wouldnt be surprised if Joe buys another one down the road.

I drive a titty chick car now Kevin .

I wouldn't get another J unless the right car came @ the right price. Don't see that happening.
