I need to pull the outer CV off my axle shaft, and i supposedly need a securely mounted vice, and a slide hammer to seperate them....
well all i have is a lil wuss slide hammer... and my vise is just on a broken old workbench that is about to fall apart.
so just wondered if anything around cleveland area had some proper tools and could help me get this sucker apart...
why do you need to rip apart 900$ axles already
Built&Boosted moar
04 Cavalier Turbo r.i.p my baby
2nd place 2009 GM tuner bash qwick 8--holla
they are $1200 axles... and i have a torn outter boot. so lost a bunch of grease, and want to fix it before i destroy them...
i got the new boot and more grease...
i just need to pop the cv off the shaft, and DSS says it is just a retainer clip.. similar to the axle to tranny clip.. just needs a lil force and it pops out....
well i have tried everything i can think of and cant get the sucker off. haynes guide says to use a slide hammer and a vise... i bet that would work... but i dont have either functional...
you got anything matt?
