Reputable Shops in Akron

I want to get an 01 LD9 bored .020" over as well as get the head done. I might buy a second motor so I wont have the down time with my car but I'm not sure. So could anybody reccomend a reputable shop in the area that could have this done in a timely manner? Also, I'm not familiar at all with pricing for the work so any guides there so I don't pay too much and so I can get an idea of what I need to save for parts and labor would be great. Thanks for any info.

Sam

Thanks for the info Matt, I'll have to give them a call when I get a day off. Anybody else with experiences or approx. pricing I should be looking for for good work?

Hey if you are willing to go to Dayton try Dick's Crank and Cam they have done some serious stuff. I will try and find the number somewhere.

Alright I won't garuntee that this guy has it but he knows his stuff. Unfortunately I don't remember his name or his shop name but there is a guy whose shop is right off of 35 near Xenia on the way to Kil-Kare which if you went to the 08 bash you know what I am talking about. He tuned has tuned domestic and foreign stuff so I would hit him up.

Sorry I know that looks fishy and sounds lame but that is the only shop I know of right now. Unless you find a guy who has it and knows what he is doing.

To M-1: Are you talking about a shop that does engine work or just somebody that tunes with HPT like Cuyote asked? I already have my means for tuning, I just need reinforcement to the block and components.

The place in Dayton called Dick's does engine and head work.

The other shop is kind of an all around but they could help. If you are looking directly for engine overhauling I would go to Dick's. They have been around forever.

we work for compu-flo, we can do any machining needed to block and or head. after its finished we can put it on our dyno for base map tuning and drivibilty issues.
