FS: 2000 Cavalier Z-24 with mods - $4000
Tuesday, August 26, 2008 10:09 AM
Mileage: 94,000

The Good:

The engine runs like a top.

Clutch was replaced with a stock clutch that has 44,000 miles on it and is gripping great.

The exhaust is relatively quiet and provides a great powerband.

If you don't care for an aftermarket suspension, the struts/springs on the car are off of an 04 cavy that had 19k miles on it. They currently have about 25k miles on them.

The Bad:

Windshield is cracked. Claim it on your insurance after a couple weeks of owning it and I'll pay the deductible. State Farm doesn't have windshield insurance anymore. Otherwise, I would of fixed it on my own.

The paint isn't perfect. On the right fender, there's a tiny bit of cancer that can be sanded off and repainted pretty easily. The right quarter has a nice 3" long key gash that was on the car when I first purchased it back in July of 2004. Multiple other paint imperfections around the car which is normal given the age.

The Ugly:

The car needs a new hood. Over the summer last year, I had a slight oops with the car in the garage. I accidentally pulled forward a little too far with the hood up and buckled it on some stuff hanging overhead. The hood closes no problem and actually looks pretty good over 95% of the surface. The problem is near the passenger side bracket. The paint chipped off when it buckled. If you're planning on getting a different hood to begin with, this really isn't a problem for you. I have Drew's old hood sitting on the side of my garage that's in perfect physical shape, but doesn't have the best paint. If you're not looking to get a new hood, you can have this one to repaint.

Here's the list of mods that are currently in place:

OBX Stainless Steel Header
Flowmaster Hushpower II Resonator
Catco 2.5" High Flow Catalytic Converter
Stainless Steel T304 2.5" Exhaust Piping
DynoMax Super Turbo Muffler

RKSport Lower Engine Mount
CarCustoms.net Tranny Mounts
Neon Rear Disc Brake Conversion
5Zigen FN01R-C 17" Rims
BFGoodrich g-Force KDW2 225/45/17 Tires

Full Graphite Interior Swap (minus headliner)
Lotek Triple Gauge A-Pillar (no gauges installed)
Knockoff B&M Short Throw Shifter

Premier DEH-P520 CD Player
Rockford Fosgate Fanatic Q 4.00" Components
Sound Splinter Ignition RL-i 8" Subwoofer
JL 250/1 Amplifier

Included mods but not installed:
Prothane Control Arm Bushings
Casper 4 Wire O2 Sensor Conversion
RKSport Uppper Engine Mount
RKSport Front Lip
RKSport Grille Inserts
Custom Chad Projector Fogs (currently mounted in the lip)

Included extra parts:
Year 2002 5 Speed Getrag transmission (4,000 miles) This is my spare trans in case I blow up the one on the car....which hasn't happened.
Interior backseat plastic tan panels (could take these and do a custom speaker install or something).
Drew's hood as mentioned above.
Full set of winter tires (Blizzacks) mounted on 15" steelies.
Hundreds of extra little parts.

Pictures:

Junk in the trunk not included:

Subwoofer is hard mounted and easily removable:

Top of steering column plastic is off at the moment because it needs to have a little bit of felt put between it and the bottom piece since it buzzes a little. I took it off because it got annoying. I will repair prior to sale:
(gauges in gauge pod not included)

Sexy brakes:

OBX header:

Exhaust flows through stainless catco cat, stainless hushpower resonator, through a v-band, and back to the dynomax super turbo:

Yes, this is the same as the last thread I made, but the supercharger and a bunch of other parts are now gone. I decided to make a new thread to avoid confusion.

Sure you won't trade for a V6 Camaro?

I need something that can handle an infant seat
