Question about mirror replacement
Friday, August 01, 2008 6:05 AM
I have an 02 LS sport that just recently some idiot sideswiped but somehow managed to only bust the mirror out of the housing and scratch my fender. My mirror is still attached to the car and the motor still works. I just want to replace just the mirror portion. is that possible and where can I get just that piece? His ins company sent me $ to fix but, I know I can do it on the cheap and save some $ for other stuff. I'm wheeling out the scratch this weekend. Thanks for any suggestions you all might have!

Well the cheapest would be a junk yard mirror that you pop out and pop back into yours. The next one that sounds the best for you to go over to a glass company and they will get you a new mirror and install it. Next would be go to dealer just for a mirror and snap new one in.

Kool Beans! went and did that today. Salvage yard I went to didn't have any power mirrors so I made do with a manual glass for now. $3. Soon as I find a power mirror glass only replacement I'll get that. Seems though most places I called wanted me to buy the whole mirror.

Well that is just the yard's way of making more money, but if you are buying a whole mirror you kinda want to buy the whole thing right? So they just try to sell both together as one. Glad you got that taken care of.
