Total components price now (mostly Newegg pricing): $1,892.98

Cooling setup:

Swiftech Apogee GT CPU water block $39.99

Total price of cooling equipment: $586.80 (This prices on this stuff hasn't changed in the past three months)

Some prime and leak check pictures:

Up and running pictures:

Note: All of the above pictures are prior to installation of the ramsinks, ram cooler, northbridge cooler, and southbridge cooler.

Since installing the watercooling equipment, the processor has been safely overclocked to a modest 3.75GHz. Keep in mind that Intel made the Extreme series of processors to appeal to the overclocking enthusiast crowd. Core temps at idle are 47c, 47c, 44c, and 44c respectively. Under full load 66c, 68c, 63c, and 62c respectively. The system has also benched a 18089 in 3DMark06 which is respectable considering the 8800GTS cards are consider lower to middle of the road in the GeForce 8 series. When playing games, this setup is friggin awesome!!! Photoshop and Lightroom is also fantastic especially when working with large (8000+ pictures) catalogs.

Why am I selling? I'd like a desktop buddy for my lonely Macbook Pro! All joking aside, my photography business is growing quickly and I'd like to switch my Lightroom workflow completely over to OSX instead of opening stuff between OSX and Windows environments. I'm also a huge sucker for the beauty of Apple hardware which should explain why I'm sacrificing this system at a fairly low price.

I will consider trades for a Mac Pro Quad or an outright purchase of $2,200 shipped. If wanting to trade, an escrow service will be involved to ensure that we are both getting what we expect. If purchasing the computer, PayPal is the only way I'll accept payment to ensure security. I highly recommend using a credit card for the transaction for your safety.

The computer will be shipped with the coolant drained and the radiator removed since it's larger than the original shipping box for the computer case. Priming the coolant system is pretty easy to do, and you'll have to learn it anyway since you really should change the coolant in the computer every year or so.

If any of you are reluctant to take the watercooling jump, I wouldn't be. The coolant I use in my system is non-conductive. Yes, it's not as efficient as straight up water, but there is NO RISK of frying your equipment in the event of a leak (which this system has never had).

You guys know who I am and my reputation. In case you don't, I do have plenty of feedback as a seller on eBay (username Emulsifide) with just over 250 positive responses. I've also sold high dollar camera equipment on fredmiranda.com (username Mr. Pute) and on dgrin.com (username Emulsified).

Serious inquiries only. If you want to talk to me on the phone about trading or purchasing the system, PM me and we'll hash it out. Thanks.

That is a lot of computer...

Good luck on the sale/trade.

I'm definitely thinking it'll prob have to sell before a trade cause people probably wont be willing to get rid of their Mac Pro's for a PC...

It totally depends on what your priorities are. This system is a wicked gaming machine. Buying the best of the best CPU on the market (Intel QX9650), an nVidia 780i motherboard, and two GeForce 8800 Ultras would yield maybe 15-20fps more than what this system can do. Given the price difference (tack on another $2000 or so), you can't go wrong with what I have to offer.

Regardless of what could be better on the system, what I'm offering gaming wise is A LOT faster than what I'm looking for in a Mac Pro. Raw CPU power wise, what I'm offering and what I'm looking for are about the same if not a tad faster on the Mac Pro.

I totally forgot. I'm including a brand spankin new copy of either Windows XP or Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 with this computer. To utilize DirectX 10 games, you'll need Vista, but it's totally up to you which OS you'd like to have included with the computer. I can go ahead and install the operating system of your choice for you, or you can do it yourself when you get the computer. Regardless of your choices, the original media and license will be included in the sale.

You would probably be better off just parting it out on Anandtech forums or something.
