FS 1996 Cavalier Convertible 5 speed

The car mechanically is quite sound. Brand new trans has maybe 10k on it tops. Also fresh motor rebuilt at the same time. I know mods don't add value, but they may appeal to someone who may like what I've already started. I'm selling this car mostly as a good running driving vehicle. It's currently being stored away in a garage. Rust isn't a problem on this vehicle, its rather clean as you'll see in pics. I'm asking 1700obo. Thats cheap for a running driving convertible.

The Good:

Practically new motor/trans/clutch. Car is very reliable.
-needs a new rear 02 sensor, with the new 02 sensor, this car will get 35mpg because the trans in it has a longer FDR (3.61 vs 3.94) It's not a speed machine, but for a daily driven car its VERY practical.
WW Big mouth front (black)
RKSport IF Sides (thin coat of primer, otherwise raw)
WW W type rear lip (raw, untreated)
18" 5 spoke wheels (I don't remember who made them)
brand new tires (only nexxen's so nothin hugely fancy)
2k console

The Bad:

Rear quarter is fubar, it will need replaced. Multiple professional shops have quoted this in the 1300-1400 range for a complete repair
Front pass fender is dinged still from the bash.

Hey now Mister, lol.I do believe Lenko has run about what your current 1/4 time is?
I'd rather go slow with the top down than fast in a coupe,LOL

Actually 1st post says $1700 OBO so if he got an offer of that already then it would have already been sold.I don't think 1k to $1200
is a bad offer considering the damage but GL on getting the $1700 to 2k

Verts are cool for summer driving of course. I was in no way knocking the Vert crowd. I just would never rock one for all season use.

Im pretty sure Lenko has a LOT more $ wrapped up into his engine build/swap than my measly turbo kit.

So I dont quite understand why that comparison came up.

Congrats DTP!!

yeah i'll admit...driving in the winter (esp at night) with a tiny ass back glass is not fun. but, for my money, it just cant be beat in the summer time!

btw....i looked up the kbb on this thing today and high book was around 4300 and low was maybe 2000. now obviously this needs a rear quarter and all that....but i was just surprised that ANY 12+ year old cavalier still booked for that much. these damned verts keep their value rather well! my 98 drop top fire still booked for close to 5k in good condition at the end of last year. crazy stuff....
