Yep.....I change plans like the wind changes directions. I've decided to steer away from the LD9 and go elsewhere. Here's what I've thought of so far:
2000 2.4 LD9 block and crank- $200
Only has 11,604 miles on it. The block will come with all extra spare parts I have laying around for the engine. The spare parts for sure do NOT include the following:
head
oil pan
camshafts
lifters
head bolts
valve springs
valves
injectors
Ported and Polished 2000 2.4 LD9 head - Best Offer
This head has been extensively ported and polished by a respectable source. The P&P job can be done on a LD9 head by the source for $1,000. The ports are port matched to the stock gaskets. The intake ports are scuffed in the proper direction to induce Eddy currents within the intake tract. The exhaust ports have been mirror polished and opened up to the largest extent possible for a stock exhaust gasket. The bowls have been opened up slightly and polished.
Miller Performance LD9 Oilpan - $200
This oilpan has been modified by Miller Performance to allow for the 2.3 oil pump conversion. Professionally TIG welded construction. This can be handed off to Miller Performance again to have powdercoated for an additional price (their set price).
Eagle H-Beam Rods - $325
Brand new in box. Includes ARP 2000 rod studs.
Weisco Pistons - $400
Brand new in box. .020" overbore and 9:1 compression. Skirts are coated with a heat and scratch resistant coating. Comes with spirolocs, wrist pins, and all appropriate rings. Spec sheet for tolerances is also included.
Carcustoms.net Stainless Steel Valves - $190
Brand new in box. Stock valve size.
ARP Main Studs - $85
Brand new in box.
ARP Head Studs - $100
Used but not abused.
GM LD9 Supercharger $500
Purchased from TDR774. The supercharger has been involved in a car crash and the TB intake neck was snapped off. The neck was welded back on properly and holds boost with no problems. THE SUPERCHARGER VANES ARE IN PERFECT CONDITION!! The bypass valve actuator was also damaged in the accident. The charger can be used without the actuator (it was on TDR774's car since the crash a couple years ago), but you would have to manually open and close the bypass with a cable of some sort. GM Parts Direct carries the part for $XXX. If you prefer, add that to the price of the supercharger and I will install it for you and make sure it's working properly before the supercharger gets in your hands. The supercharger also does NOT include the 2 bar MAP sensor, brake booster tube, PCV to throttle body tube, or any bracket/intake manifold bolts. All of these parts are easy to find replacements for and I will assist in sourcing them for you if you'd like.
Melling M136 Oil Pump - $100
Brand new in box. Purchased from Summit Racing for $128.69. This is the 2.3 oilpump used in the conversion.
Cometic MLS Head Gasket - $100
Brand new in package. Boosted .074" thickness. Purchased from jtuners.com for $110.95.
Ford Green Top 440cc Injectors and Pigtails - $160
Purchased from Jeff Filkins and used on my car for a year. Awesome injectors. Will not come off of the car until at least October.
Fidanza Lightened Flywheel and SPEC Stage 2 Clutch - $XXX
Excellent condition. Both were purchased and installed new on my car back in 2005. They've been able to handle 280hp and 270tq at the wheels no problem. At the most, there's probably 12k miles on the entire system. Will not come off of the car until at least October.
LD9 OBX Header - $125
Great condition. Used for about 2 years. On the stock OBX header, port #3 lines up crooked and some porting needs to be performed. I did this before the header was put onto the vehicle. Will not come off of the car until at least October.
Miller Performance 2.3 HO Intake Manifold - $75
Modified by Miller Performance to accept a 2.4 throttle body. Also has plenty of ports in it for various intake tract sensors. Will not come off of the car until at least October.
Full set of 2.3 Lifters - $50
Brand new in box.
2002 Getrag Transmission - $400
This came out of a 2002 Z24. The bellhousing is for the LD9. The bellhousing has a small crack in it at the bottom of a non-stress area due to the trans plunking down a tad too hard when being removed. I intend on fixing the crack before the trans gets into your hands. The transmission only has 4000 miles on it!!!
