Anyone in the Hampton Roads are of VA with a buffer? I need to borrow one to polish out the clear coat scratches I have. I'm willing to meet up at your place or you at mine, makes no difference.

I'm probably just going to do it by hand, might take longer, but the results I've seen by hand vs with a buffer have been amazing..maybe its just my "newb-ness", but it looks that doing it by hand looks better.

I take it you've never had the pleasure of using a DA Porter Cable Polisher then. The cheap polishers you see at autozone and wal-mart are pittance compared to a real random orbit polisher.

No, I haven't..I hand swirled for about a half hour and my hand was cramping so bad I couldn't move it. Maybe I'll just go buy one 225..ugh.

if your gonna get one go to autopia and get the "Ultimate" one its a PC but its been re-branded with a better motor and counter weight.

If you plan on detailing your car a lot its worth it. I just picked mine up before I blew my engine but it performed a miracle on my wifes car.
