Interest in painted interior parts?
Tuesday, May 22, 2007 9:07 PM
I posted a topic like this in the interior section, but that died down right away, and a big downfall to trying to help people out with this is shipping. I'm curious if anyone near the Grand rapids area would like to have their interior painted. Were not talking about Rattle can jobs, i'm talking about pulling out the air compressor and doing it right. I can offer touch up paint (spray can) if anyone is interested, which may come in handy if you get your interior painted, and then someone somehow screws a spot up, and you would rather just quick spray a little touch up on it as opposed to getting it all redone. Right now I'm just looking for anyone interested, and if your curious on a price, please just email me with what exactly you would like done and what colors were talking about, and I'll get back to you. Because this is not being done with spray cans, it will be a little bit more expensive, but not crazy overpriced either. Obviously just like paint job on a car, the more in depth the job is, the more pricey it would be. Again, just looking for interest.

Also, if this is considered double posting something, I do apologize. Please delete the other one if that is the case.

What would you charge to sand smooth and paint a dash bezel a solid color?

living in Indiana, I would still have to ship it, unless you plan on driving to Grand Rapids area. If your still interested, please pm me, and we'll figure something out pricing and color choice, etc. I don't want fill up this thread with a million questions like what color you want etc. as for price, it will depend on the condition of the piece, and if you want it to be completely smooth, or if you want to keep the texture look. keeping the textured look would be cheaper since thier is a little less work involved. Depending on what color you went with it would also change the pricing. I could probably charge anything from maybe $15 - $40. I say $40 as a high estimate for the fact that it would depend on what all the paint included. If you wanted some sort of mettalic or some sort of flake in it, it could definately cost. If it was something simple like black or white, that would be easy. The only other thing would be how much gloss you want to have. if you want a dull look, or if you want it to shine.

-factory condition piece
-sanded smooth
-solid color basecoat
-urethane clear coat

to be honest, i don't need any work done. I've done mine already, and was wondering what others would charge for the same work. If you charge 40 bucks for smoothing and painting a dash bezel, my hat's off to you, lol. I would probably charge 4 times that amount.

Here is mine, painted it gloss black, with House of Kolor urethane clear. Took FOREVER to sand the texture out of it and get it smooth enough for paint. don't mind the fingerprint smudges on it, i had just gotten it put back in
