does anyone around here know of a good shop who will port and polish a cylinder head? i want a very good shop with a resonable price
There is a group purchase right now for a Patriot-Performance 2200 head ported and polished fully assembled for like 575. If it was up to me I would be all over that if I were you.

i dont need a fully assembled one...this is gonna be a long process thats gonna take me time. im gonna buy everything a part at a time, thats the only way i can afford it since i just spent a grand on my car
Michael...PM me with how much it cost and how long it took
so get the un assembled patriot head, lots cheaper than any machine shop.
well i am gonna do the port and polish myself, and pay a machine shop to reangle my valves
how hard is the port and polish to do it yourself exactly.... id love to learn to do it.
not sure but ill let u know when im done
in virginia beach, VA ... i took my 2.2 head to "The Head Shop" it cost me like $175. The ported and polished the head, gasket matching the intake side. And i brought them all new internal hardware, which they installed for me (valves, valve seals, springs, retainers, locks) . took them 2 days, head looked brand new when i got it back.
damn thats a good deal. i wont have all new internals for awhile tho. im gonna buy each piece seperate since im hard on cash right now... and im not in any hurry
virginia beach is far away from here though...

About the same price that Kammer and Kammer charged me in Dayton, OH. They polished the head and port matched my intake and exhaust ports. Good stuff.
pheonix could you pm me with more info about this kammer and kammer place. it still not that close but i should be able to ship it to them and have them ship it back. all im wanting is a decent p&p for a light-medium nitrous build.
yea pheonix PM me about them too...
A guy I work with races circle track. He recommended a place called Patterson Custom Heads. I think its in Mechanicsburg on SR38. I'll ask him on Tuesday for more details.
