Damn....you are about a year too late otherwise we could have done our installs together. That way I would have had someone to help me with all of the fun stuff you will run into.

I can tell you that if you end up needing any custom welding done for a downpipe or exhaust, there is a great, cheap shop on Illinois Avenue(actually just into Madison I believe) called Custom Exhaust or something simple like that.

If you end up having any questions, feel free to email me at ontariofan76@yahoo.com . Do you have a list of all the pieces and parts you have put together? Maybe I can save you a few trips to Akron/Summit Racing.

Good luck!

Weren't you the one opening your own business? With comments like "I have no damn clue" how do you honestly expect to open a business and be successful?

Wow it sounds like yours will be an adventure as well with the Emanage and that other sensor stuff.
Here is a list of things you might look into without knowing what future mods you are planning or boost levels you are going to be running:
-Flange for your BOV and welder
-Vacuum tubing and tees for wastegate, BOV, Boost gauge, etc.....maybe some small hose clamps for these if you want?
-If your injectors are used, maybe some new rings for them, don't forget to lube them up when installing(the rings)!!!!
-bung to weld in for your O2 sensor(if not already included)
-RTV liquid gasket( i used the copper type for high heat applications....grab it at autozone or similar...)
-fittings for the oil lines unless you have something other than standard tapping in mind (return and feed)
-elec. tape and heat shrink if you aren't soldering the emanage wiring
-something to cut and grind your intercooler piping (I work construction so I used a dewalt grinder with a metal cutting wheel and a grinding wheel to smooth it out so I didn't rip the couplers, not the prettiest ends on the pipe but that is hidden anyways. )
-not sure if you will need any of these because I'm not to familiar with Emanage but what about: Adjustable FPR, FMU, larger fuel pump? It's definetely easier to do the pump with a friend and not to expensive to put a Walbro in.

Plan on making a few nut and bolt runs to the closest parts store. I'm sure there is plenty of other stuff you will need, but hopefully I saved you a trip or two....or a day or two of down-time.

I fully expect to see a yellow boosted Cavy at Mid-Ohio when I visit home this summer to watch some races!!!

theres also another dillemha that ive run into. i cant decide between the t3 super 60 kit, which i will be picking up from a friend for 1500 or a saab td04 setup for 1000. i know they make similar power at lower boost, which i plan on running til i build my motor, maybe like 7-9psi. but im also sorta stuck between these two, so im gonna make a post about it and see what people think, and maybe help me make up my mind, cuz im ordering the stuff this weekend

Not really a huge difference when installing a turbo kit between the two engines.

Power at a given boost level is important, but don't forget about driveability. Making a sh*tload of power is great, but not when you have to wait unti 4k to make that power. The turbo I used wouldn't even fit without hammering back my firewall. It made a ton of power but I had to be on the highway or have a decent stretch to get it there. The car I drive now has a mildly undersized turbo that falls on its face by 4k. The trade-off is almost no noticeable lag at all and when I punch it, it moves.

I guess in the end you will have to decide what you are really looking for in your car. The last thing you want to do is put that much work and money in your car, and not be completely happy with it. Make sure you size it right!
Good luck with everything

td04 with the reflash , you cant beat the driveability of it.

When are you looking at doing this???
I would sugest hp tunners instead of the emanage.. or get the emanage running first then turbo it..

Doing all of it at once will be a pain in the arse...

Paul is kinda right if you have a whole bunch of people helping they will get in the way..

If your doing it in pauls garrage it will be done right.

Talk to QBE and see where you put the oil drain. Its scarry but i believe theirs a pittle nip[ple on the block you tap for the return.

And if their is anything I can tell you it is this... Turbo is all about the fuel.. fuel fuel fuel fuel.. and do it right the first time. believe me on this.. haha

if you want send me a pm i might be able to help even if its just with knowlege.. i will give you my number over e-mail or pm not here..

I put a turbo on my car and beat the crap out of it for 3 years it took 1 time of a low fuel ratio and i popped a ring or piston or something..

horsepower is how hard you hit the wall, Torque is how far you push the wall with you

When...I'm in for just standing around and watching. I'll help JNickel.

I'd like to see the install being done to get pointers for my supercharger install.

I can take the pics if need be.

hey cad, does the TD04 go all the way to redline or fall flat on its face at like 4500 or 5k, thats the only remaining deciding factor. if it goes all the way to redline then i will do saab setup, i can get the reflash free and all extra parts steeply discounted since my father works at a dealership and so does my uncle

at 5400rpm the car high peak hp (224) and at 6000rpm the hp was 218. The turbo does run out of power way up in the revs but the liner power curve and full tq at 4200 make the car a blast to drive.... And trust me, there is nothing falling on its face with this setup. Just look at the trap speeds
