Question for those Ohio kids..
Tuesday, October 10, 2006 2:45 PM
Well maybe not just Ohio, just anyone who's driving in a lowered car in the snow. This is my first time having a lowered car during the snow season and I was wondering if I would need to raise it for the winter? I don't have a body kit or anything, so I dunno if it's better to raise it or leave it alone? Thanks for the help.

Your fine since you don't have a kit.. I drove my car with 1.75 drop in the snow for two years before being put up last year for the winter.. You won't have a problem, I wouldn't worry.

Ok thanks..I didn't want to have to go to the trouble of putting stock springs back on then getting it re-aligned, heh.

J-bodies dont seem to get around too bad in the snow. They dont stop the greatest due to the ABS sucking balls, but they get around ok. I'd just not try to take on as many snow drifts as I would with a stock ride height. I'm sure where you are you get the gift of lake effect snow too. But you shoudl still be ok.

Northeast Ohio in the snow belt.
Momentum is your friend while driving through 3 foot drifts. . I also recomend hitting them at an slight angle.
Who needs headlights.
Cavy doesn't normally see snow now though.

I use to plow the snow in my s-10 (crossmember about 1.5" off the ground). Along with what they said, you won't have any problems. Momentum is def. your friend!

The only problem I've ever had in the snow is when the genius plow crews of the university decide to plow right down the middle of the parking lots, but while doing so put at least 12 inches of snow right up to your bumper. There has to be a better way to do that! Haha watch where you park I guess.
