I was webmaster for the Bonne Bell company until they downsized me after 6 years and I need to get a job. I can't afford to put a decent turbo or even a fart can on my car without a job
Does anyone know of a Cleveland area company that's looking for a webmaster? I do flash, actionscripting, html, asp, photoshop, freehand and was also tech support for the design department, 18 Macintosh computers.

Are you willing to relocate?
By the look of your work you seem to be pretty talented, and you have over 5 years experience... I would think you would be able to find another job pretty easily if you posted your resume on CareerBuilder, Dice, or Monster.

Thanks, I'm on all 3 already. The Cleveland Plain Dealer has listed us as the poorest major city in the nation, beating Detroit (who "won" last year). The economy sucks around here, there's 8 houses on my street that are either in forclosure or being sold during forclosure. Stupid Iraqi war...

unfortunately the job of "webmaster" really isn't there anymore.
Your best bet is to learn more web programming IMO. However if the area your in is a low job market the needs for tech people is probably low.
Also learn some CSS layout techniques.

Maybe just get a job that produces a paycheck? Hell, work at Best Buy or McDonalds if you have to if it's feeding the kids and paying the mortgage you're worried about. You should be old enough and grown up enough to know that if you have to provide for the family, then you need to bring home the cheese. Worry about the webmaster crap later.

Thanks for the advise, but there's no way that a McPaycheck will get the bills paid. My kids are almost old enough to work at Best Buy, I need a real job.

If you've been layed off, you should be collecting unemployment anyways. That's what it's for.

http://statejobs.ohio.gov/ there might be something there for you, and most jobs pay at least 24k a year.
