well, even if you seriously dont, watch out when your chillin in a lot with people.

We had this happen a few years ago in Cincy. The guy that did the story even won a Ohio Broadcasters Award for it... Either way, hanging out ANYWHERE was near impossible for a few months. Got so bad that Erlanger cops (city I live in, go figure) were cracking down on Kentuckys Exhuast law. (anything louder than stock, is illegal here) Most of us in Northern Kentucky were effected by the story on the news. Even the ones that didn't go to cincinnati (which is only 10-15 minutes away from where we live) were getting harrassed, pulled over, and searched. (I was hit 3 times in a one month, was basicly a victim of profilling.

If you don't do anything stupid you won't have to worry about it. So I guess you won't be driving for a few months huh stanger? But that dosen't mean that they won't pull over people. So here's an idea.....quit doing stupid sh!t because you give everyone a bad name! You and they guys you run with are perfect example and don't cry when they crack down on you guys because you did it to yourselves! I hated getting lumped into your type of people because I drive a tuner type car!

People sometimes will run light to light..... but not every light!

At first i read the title and said What the @!#$, dont warn street racers about anything. Thinking it was going to be a warning about Under Covers or some @!#$.

But then i read the post and this is bad for everyone guys.

I promise you if they get a good enough story to air, it will make life harder for anyone who drives a modified car wether or not they are racing.

Re: Warning to street racers...

Ok Evan listen here.

When I want to race, I race. No Tom Dick or Harry is going to tell me other wise. If I am the only one in my car, and conditions are right than I am going to race. However I do accept responsibility for my actions. If I get a ticket, oh well. I deserved it for racing on public roads. So back off.

It was a general warning to anyone that goes out to the spots where the racing is organized (but not taken place in). There is a number of things this effects.

lets start off with one of the most important issues.

*Laws. Because of video's like this, it fuels the lobbist to create and attempt to pass new laws that restrict what you can do to your car. Not only does this effect your performance aspect (if you are orintated in that direction), but also those that go for looks. Suspension, lighting, exhuast, body kit, and even intakes can become illegal. Video's like this are done for a few reasons. One, it draws attention away from more serious issue's like gas pricing, local scams, and the Iraq war. Two, it really kills the automotive industry, and basicly to make us look bad. Even if you don't race...

*It does effect ALL of us in the surronding cities. Even if you don't race, or go to these places to hang out your still effected. If you modify your car the police assume your part of that culture. Of course 50% of the times there right, but that other 50% aren't. So you become a victim of basicly what is profiling and there's nothing you can do about it.

*You want to bitch about being in the "tunner/racer* catagoery? Than here's an idea.... Don't build your car to look like it is part of it. Shocking, yes I know... But there's always the sleeper look. Or if you want to keep building a street car, than um... DON'T GO AROUND THOSE THAT ARE KNOWN FOR STREET RACING! If you beleave in track racing, than great. Good for you. Don't try to play Dad with me, or anyone here because we do what we want. We know the repercushins for our actions. So save being a dad, for your family.

BACK ON TOPIC.

Watch out for these guys. There cruel, there evil, and they don't give 2 flying monkey's about you. The worse they make you look, the better it is for THEM. When this story broke in Cincinnati they stole video's from www.cincinnatistreetracing.com Keep in mind, that not everyone on that web site even street races. The only cool thing that happened was I saw a few of my friends on the T.V. lol.

So if this is happening in your local cities make sure to copy protect your video's if there online so they can't be downloaded of the server and force them to stream it. That or contact the host of the site, and ask for your video's to be removed untill it blows over.

Things to watch out for. SUV's/Mini cans. Numbers in the back window (i.e. 6 or 12), cb equipment, and cars that are following you if you do decied to go race. If you see someone out with there camera's and you don't know them, ask who they are. If there with any type of public news/broadcasting than they are required to inform you about it.

Just stay one step ahead of these guys. Don't give them anything to do a story on. Because it effects everyone around you.

***Sorry for the rant at the begining*

Seriously it's not worth it. One of my best friends was almost killed becaused he was street racing and a car pulled out on him. Just look at this way, is months/years of possible pain worth the 20 seconds that you are racing. People that say well that wont happen to me are acting stupid and are putting themselves at risk for it, I can say that wont happen to me because I haven't done it in 2 years and won't do it ever for the rest of my life. Doing stuff like that can not only hurt yourself, it can also hurt others. Just my 2 cents

The versus forum was filled with it, so lets not debate on how bad street racing is, ok? I've seen enough pissing contests over it to make my eyes bleed. Lets just drop the subject NOW.

And stenger, thanks for the info. I'll certanly be watching now.

HAHAHA! You have no idea what your talking about. I have been in the lowrider/tuner scene for 10+ years now. When the first guys starting modding the 4 cyl's the didn't make them fast they lowered them because they weren't fast! They got into paint and body mods because they weren't fast and after about 5 years they started making go fast part main stream for the 4 cyl's. Know your facts before you tell someone to listen up BOY. I've had been modding cars or trucks before you ever thought about being trendy. I was lowering my car when it wasn't cool to lower them. So like I said quit doing stupid @!#$ to give everyone else a bad name. Go drive a honda for that!

2nd- to shift away from the war and gas prices? Christ your an Idiot. Like were all going to forget about it because Paul Adlier (D!ck) wants to report about rossen, racing and trying to make a name for him self and how every kid in cincy with a tuner is in this society? I was there when CSR first started and it got out of hand with young punks Idiots and a lot of good people left because of it.

I've have gone light to light but only when there is no traffic but I don't go out looking for it. It's not about being a dad to the comunity but being mature.

And yes, I am a d!ck!

evan let it go. hes going to do what hes going to do. and when you say you go light to light...isnt that illegal too?? hmmm i think it is. so lets not call someone out in public and try and act like adults here?? just maybe? take your issues to PMs and emails, cause its annoying trying to read personal grudges when i wanna learn about cars.

Bryce, mind your own business, if he wants to post a topic about it I have every right to give my .02. I don't know what your going to learn about cars on a thread about catching street racers?

As for going light to ligh, everyone on here and the majority of males that drive a car or truck have raced on the street weath to be punk or not let someone over into your lane. So I won't say I never have but I don't go around looking for it. If you want it to drop quit kicking it up!

we all make our own choices about street racing. Some of us are for it, some aren't. Thats not the issue here. Its about tring to keep your community strong, and out of the media.

Go figure. You would bring your personal grudge against me in a topic like this. Can't say I didn't see it coming, but I did hope that it wouldn't happen.

and FYI. I was 13 when I started wrenching on cars... I am 21 now. So thats 8 years of messing with cars. Not to mention the 2 years that I was in a technical school for Automotive Machanics, (teachers name was Dave Shelton. You may know him from what was called NKY Tech. now Gateway) I've had my hands in projects that envolve air ride, performance builds, motor swaps, repairs, and semi-custom. And If I am not mistaking Fast and Furious didn't come out untill 1999 or 2000. Which means, i've been playing around with cars before that. I remember being one of the ONLY people in my high school to even mess around with compact cars untill my Senior year... Then compacts starting growing.

SO! Be on the look out for camera crews and strange vechiles in your area.
