the asshat construction guys that are working here took a chunk out of my wing and trunk lid. I didn't even notice it for 2 days since I've been rushing to work.
They were throwing trash into a dumptruck parked behind my car. Well, it seems they dropped a window on my trunk and wing. Evidence - the glass stayed on my rear window and trunk lid for 2 days. It looks horrible, a fist sized grouping of nicks, about a 1/2" around, almost like they tried to catch it and made it worse, or the glass broke and chipped the fiberglass/paint.
Anyway, I don't know if they are going to fess up to it, and my insurance doesn't cover it yet (got it added today) so I may just have to buy paint and redo it myself (what a way to practice my painting skills) using single stage (I KNOW, but I cant afford the good stuff) and doing just the trunk first and working the rest of the car later I guess.
The year is starting out just PEACHY so far.
this thread is worthless without pics
obiviously, you havent seen my digicam, it eats batteries like candy, and the pix are worthless.
I'll get a pic if I can.
well, it wont take pix right now, I dont have strong enough batteries in the house (I used every remote battery in the house trying to find a set that had enough power)

contractor said he would pay for paint, I got a quote for a quart. I am going to repaint the car this spring I think, after the body kit is on, so I need the paint any way. He offered me $150 to repair it myself, I figure the paint is about $70 for a quart of single stage (hey, it's not a show car, it's more for speed LOL) with all the extras.
I will have to take the car down for a weekend, strip the trunklid off the car and of all parts, including the wing, sand it, seal it, and repaint it. Hopefully it will be done in a day and ready to install in two. I'll use heat lamps to speed things up a little.
I know the paint wont match due to fading, but as I said, this is to make it through to spring and a total car repaint. Hell, I might have enough in the quart to do the hood finally as well. then I wont have the shoddy spray-bomb covering my eyelids. LOL
