I have been hearing a lot of good things about Radioshack, but both of the shacks by me never seem to get any business even though they are hiring for the holiday season. I was wondering what the commission % is at radioshack for the employees.
im not from your region, but im a former store manager...DO NOT work for that @!#$hole, unless you like being mistreated, and forced to rip people off.

If your at a commision store.. ( some arent .. like really really small stores that dont do as much business ) but if its a commision store.. you get different levels depending on the items.. small amounts for like computers, medium amounts for cell phones and tvs and stuff. and you get a lot for parts batteries and accesories..
You also get SPIFFS depending on how you perform.. Cell phone sells are a lot of money because off add ons and th spiffs for them.. so its really subjective to what you sell but you can get well over 100 bucks on a cell phone sell... thats what a lot of people like tosell th most..
Plus benifits are good and there are a lot of chances to make money and we always have fun contest with good prizes ( new cell phones, trips, my coworker won an XBOX 360 for 2nd shipment ) but im buying it from him for 250 becasue he doesnt play video games.. and I had 400 saved up for it lol

^ sounds like he worked at the wrong district.. ours is good about that, and we all refuse to rip anyone off and I and quite a few others manage to make pretty good money

I just started there and it is 7% for accessories and 5% for others. Spiffs on cell phones are nice, I made 47 bucks in spiffs the other day but my store isnt that busy so all the other days I didnt make any. Sucky thing is that it's $5.15 an hour for part time and $5.25 for full time + spiffs, I guess you only get commission if you sell over your hourly rate in commission.
To be in commision you must sell an average of over $100 per hour that you work. If you do that you make 5% on end products (cell phones, tvs, etc) and 7.5% on batteries and accessories. I believe it's now considered the "golden quarter", which means you have to sell an average of at least $125 and hour, but since it is so much busier during Christmas, you shouldn't have any problem doing that.
And I agree with Karnage, sounds like you were in the wrong district, although I will tell anybody that's it's much less stress to be a sales associate then a store manager. They tried to get me into the MIT program several times and I wasn't interested lol.

I dont blame you.. plus If me or some others went to managers.. we would take a pay cut to be honest....

my husband used to work at radioshack and he made pretty good money. i agree with them, you should have any problems with the commission thing if you know how to talk people into buying things. christmas is a good season to start off too. good luck if you decide to work there

well.. my goal is
1200 a day in sales ( 300 in PBA)
3 phones ( AT LEAST 2 sprint ) x 2 accesories each
2 RS Service Plans
I usually make that goal.. and that usally brings home about 120 bucks a day depending on the plans they choose and things like that
My math may be off but that sounds about right
point is.. im pretty new ( 4 months ) and I have had these goals for a while and my first check when I did all my tests is the only time you make 5.25... then its been at least 10-12 bucks an hour since..
.
.
alot better than 6.25 when I was at target.. and being non comission.. you hated when poeple would come into the store.. then you would have to help and you arent getting anyhting for it...
now its like im either there and on JBO.. or im there helping customers and getting paid.. you CANT have a bad day at work.. uness your having people problems..

A girl I work with made $100 today in spiffs off of be backs on phones, she wasn't even in the store. Sold 3 phones, 2 with accessories, one without.
My best day so far has been $47, but my store is really slow.
Thats pretty decent.. I would just keep working.. it comes with time.. and then after a while you will start raking in cash and not knowing trying
Good luck with the holiday season
