I'm sure a lot of places are hiring for Christmas help, which is an easy way to get your foot in the door. I started at Radio Shack as part time Christmas help and after January I got moved up to full time and stayed. So if anybody gets in as Christmas help, just remember how you do over the next couple months could help you get a more long term position.

I work at RS and I love it.. been there since early July.. getting ready for the golden quarter..
our store is projected 38k for the day after thanksgiving.. split 5 ways.. comission on that.. YUMM
They are saying Xmas checks will be about 2k...
Plus we are dropping Verizon in Jan. and picking up Cingular.. They have better spiffs from what im hearing, maybe more than Sprint.. I cant wait..

I have been selling wireless now for 8 years and if your only getting 2x on a Xmas com. check you need to work somehere else lol, I make 2,500 if not more every month working, I will make like 4000 for Xmas

Radio Shack is a fun place to work, especially over Christmas. I would still work there but I wanted to get into car audio installing so I got a job at Circuit City.
The benifits if you get to stay and get full time are pretty good. The pay is decent, minimun wage +commision(if you're in a commision store) + SPIFFS. Around Christmas I usually averages around $25/hour.
2k checks, depends on your store, how busy you get, how good at adding on to sales you are.
As long as you don't mind dealing with people, I would say it's a good job to be in. Some things are supposed to be changing here soon, but I'm not sure how drasticly. If you have the chance to work there, I say go for it, at least for Christmas help.

Check pretty much any retail sales place, almost all of them will be looking for a lot of extra seasonal help.
