Well that was the beginning of the summer.

Yep, just looked it up. There is one 00, 2 99s, and so on.

Cleveland west only has 00 and older as well now.

The LSS springs are exactly the same as every other year and model. They wont lower the car at all. If you need stock springs I have some though.

I'm not looking for too low. I want cheap, thats just a little lower than the base 00. also, this is my dd and by no means a "project" i bought it specifically just to drive, not to mod. the only reason i want to do the conversion is because its easy bolt ons and i like the look of the 03 better. i picked this car up for 600 bucks with no rust and nothing wrong with it beside a loose motor mount. i already have a merkur xr4ti for my project, i dont need to start moding this one lol. well, ok that was just a little intro to me cause im new here, but anyway. like i said, not looking for aftermarket. i want to keep this car stock(i consider body parts off a newer model still stock), and in as good of condition mechanically as possible because it will last a very long time.

why do the sports look lower then? is it cause of the lip they have? it seems like there less of a gap from the top of the tire to the fender on those than on my car.

Generally the LSS has more options, and thus is heavier. My loaded Z sits lower on stock springs than most J's because of how heavy it is.

BTW, Vogtland springs, which I barely recall even hearing of, are absolute junk. If you're going to lower a J you need to do it the right way, or it will be dangerous.

i just want to lower it like an inch or 2. nothing huge and i dont want stiffer springs either, i want the same ride, just a tiny bit lower for a cheap price, even something used thats still in good condition that i can use with my stock shocks. it looks kinda goofy sitting high up. well, high up IMO. my last dd was a 240sx and before that a subaru, so maybe im just used to sports cars that are already low.

^What you're asking for doesn't exist, even minimal drops like the Eibach Pro kit drop you 1.4" and they are significantly stiffer. The springs are relatively cheap $200-250 new, $150-175 used, struts to handle the drop are not. I'm sure other cars have OEM struts that can handle a drop, J bodies do not, the OEM struts will crap out in a matter of weeks with even a slight drop.

Tein S techs are a bit less of a drop then the Pro kit, they will give the car a raked stance, but even then you will want at least KYB AGX's.

if your car is an 95-02 the hood will be the same. I have 2 extra CF hoods that need refinished, and the trunk lid with spoiler sitting in my storage unit collecting dust, Trunk lid is the dark blue color.

Thats true Tim, but it is possible to run aftermarket springs with stock style struts. Im running David's (Datwhitecavy) old suspension which is Goldline springs along with the Gabriel OEM replacement struts. But that setup is pretty stiff, and it sucks on bumpy roads. So if he wants a more softer ride he needs to save up some money for a good setup like the Eibach's along with KYB AGX's.

Springs responses: ok so if the struts have the possibility of giving out, how bout another route. are there any other chevys/pontiacs that i could use the springs and struts from that will bolt right in with a 1-2 inch drop? like something i could pick up at a junkyard.

to the guy with the hoods: i have an 00, and i want to convert to an 03-05. the walkthrough sticky says the hoods are different from 95-02 and 03-05 to compensate for the larger grill.

Quit trying to do everything the cheap route, If you are so dead set on lowering your car and dont have money then just cut your stock springs, but you will have complications with the struts. And if you dont wanna do it that route, then just DEAL with being stock height and just save up for a good suspension setup.

If you dont have money to mod your car then you dont need to mod your car, NEVER do things the cheap route it will be better for you to save your money and do what you want later on down the road. Plus you said your self that you dont really wanna mod the cav too much, since the cav isnt as important as your other car then just leave the cav stock and dont mess with it.

i have the money to do whatever i want to the car, thats not the issue, i just dont want to spend a rediculous amount on suspension for a dd. i just wanted it a little lower. and generally for a "model" of car, theres usually a different "model" of the same "make" that will raise/lower it by just bolting on those springs and struts. perfect example is the 96-99 subaru legacy can use the springs and struts off an 04 wrx for an almost 2" drop and they bolt right in. thats why i asked if another gm has bolt on struts that will lower it an inch. and no, i dont want to mod it except for the 03 conversion(again, i dont think its "moding" if they're stock parts). and since i've always had low sports cars, its kinda gonna bug me with this car sitting a little higher, but if i cant just bolt in different gm struts and springs to drop an inch or 2, ill just deal with it.

Unfortunately GM loves wheel gap, so we don't have that possibility

ill sell you a set of sportline knockoffs. $100

Now if you had an HHR you could use all the cobalt SS/TC or cobalt SS/SC stuff and lower your hhr about an inch.

J-bodies do not have this option.

Most cost effective route is Eibach Pro kit with KYB AGX struts....

the primed parts on ebay new are relatively cheap. the front bumpers are only 35 bucks. i think im just gonna buy everything on ebay black primed cause im painting the car in a few weeks anyway, so ill start ordering bits and parts slowly and just wait till i have everything, paint the parts, take the car apart and paint that, then throw all the new parts on.
