hows it going, been on the org for a while but never really posted, but yea just moved from hagerstown Md to orlando FL. looking for a 99.5- 02 z24 or Gt with the 2.4 5 speed atm and hoping to get one on a good deal. looking forward to hanging out and meeting new people. any help needed let me know im an ASE certified tech and side work is welcome.

That is not true. GM made a kit just as they did for the LD9's.
It is cheaper to piece a kit together using Cobalt SS/SC parts.
