I've been saying that for the last 5 yrs now, my friend.. if only GM had a brain

yes, thats the '03-style Turbo Sport... the '00-'02 TS is the grey one in the banner on the main page. both woulda been very suitable, and at the time the concepts were made, woulda been big sellers IMO. it'd have been better to update a known car with an established fan base, than to create a whole new car and pass it off as a tuner, i.e, the Cobalt SS. think about it.. the Cavalier was around for 25 yrs for a reason...

Can't totally agree with you on that evan. The Jbody's always have and always be at the bottem on the Perofmance world. They were made as daily drivers as cheap cars. To hard to change the 25 year mind set.

Starting off with a fresh car like the Cobalt was a good idea. It has been taken in better than J's ever will.

Do not get me wrong would have loved to of seen the Z24 Techinc made, or the Sunfire HO, or the Turbo Sport cavy's. Heck the 263 cavalier that was stollen.

the only reason the Cobalt was accepted the way it was, was cause they started out with an SS/SC model, so it immediately put the thought it in everyone's mind that "hey, this is a sports car".. had it started out the way the Cavalier was - cheap transport for the masses - it would've failed alot sooner than the Cavi. think about it: the Civic started out the same way the Cavalier did, but somehow, it gained popularity and was seen as a potential "race" car (I use that term very loosely). I think the Cavi SS, the TS, or the Sunfire HO woulda had the potential to do for Chevy what the Civic did for Honda

but then again, I am biased toward the j-body cause I know what they're capable of

You are 100% correct, which is why it was smart of GM to do what they did. You could not do that with the J's and get the same response at that time.

well my theory was based off of the fact that the j scene, at least at the time the Cobalt came out, was on an upward climb in popularity
