The Curse Of The Black Pearl
Monday, March 02, 2009 11:37 PM
I was planning on just bringing this to a meet, but who knows when the next one will be.. and ppl have been asking to see it, so here it is.. the new car. my 6th j-body.. I call her The Black Pearl

I was told the motor was crap, but the fuel pump was too so we didnt even get to fire it up.. we just trailered it. thanks to Chris Winstel.. love ya, bro

gettin started on what took about a week and a half to get fixed (yes, thats my boy dressed up like a clown)

finally got it runnin at 10p on a Thursday, just in time for Bullrun on Spike dont mind the mis-matched taillights

some pics after a bath and finishing the taillight swap (you can tell these were taken with a cam and not my phone)

and just in case anyone's wondering about Stacy, my best friend since we were like, 5 bought her from me to have as a DD while he works on his '69 Impala lowrider. he's a classic car guy, so he doesnt give 2 sh*ts about her, but he has done a few things to her, including fixing the windows, he bought my old black taillights, and getting a new paintjob. you'd never even recognize her anymore...

he wants to bring her to the annual show this yr, but in all honesty.. and it really does break my heart.. he'll probably have her totalled by then. and if by the grace of God he doesnt wreck it, he'll sell it.. or at least attempt to. he wants $5k for it and the paint quality is just as bad as the old paint..

I like it Evan!

I've never really liked the type J front, but on your car it looks sick!
Can't wait to see it in person.

Even you need to get the paint code for me and bring it up here so I can paint the front bumper ,,

Btw it looks much better then the other car ..

thanks for the compliments, guys

hopefully, I'll have the money to make it to the GM Bash so you guys up in NC can see it

actually, I got my exhaust back on Saturday but since I dont have HPT, I've got a CEL now since I dont have a cat. and the Rotas.. well, they needed 3 tires (Justin managed to split another one the day he got it) and I was tired of them anyway. I've had them since the first week I got the car, so almost 4 yrs. I want Jose's Racing Harts, hense why these wheels are for sale now..

thanks, um.. "X".. how much are you wanting for your masterful services? and the whole kit needs painted, not just the front

X2 and don't put stickers everywhere like you did to stacy. leave both wiperblades on there. get a door molding. get the wheels you want. ok i'm done lol

LOL!! wow, thank you Omar

the stickers will be kept to a minimum.. I'm doing a smaller version of the Jesse memorial on the back, as well a memorial for Justin's mom who died back in January. and yes, the solo wiper is gone forever.. one of the worst mistakes I did to Stacy, but he's rectified that also

if you look, the kit isnt fully secured to the car due to it coming back off when it gets repainted.. hense why the moldings arent back on. no point in taping them on just to take them back off again. the only things I'm waiting on is the wing I want, so in reality I'm waiting to see when Nottke will crack and sell it to me.. but if not, I'll just stick with the stock one and go for the carbon trunk (the reason I got the carbon tails). and I'm waiting to see if I cant score a set of Razzi skirts like Jess'.. if I do and its some kinda trade, the moldings go with with the J skirts

oh yea, and you dont need the paint code.. I got the left over paint, so it should be good to shoot

my stock skirts got destroyed when I hit that blown-out tire late last yr.. one was split in half and the other one was snapped off at the back of the door. I still have the '02 LSS/Z24 bumpers tho, they werent damaged 'cept for the paint

yea, its Kinetik's old car but its been repainted since that pic.. and a good pic that is, too. hopefully, it'll start too look more and more like a different car 'cause I hate buying something thats already been started.. but the price was too good to pass up and I figured Stacy had the same kit, so it wouldnt make that much of a visual difference. I want different wheels and suspension to begin with, then some clear corners.. and when Kris gets back, see if we cant do some custom work to the headlights 'cause he's the man in that department

thanks Gilberto I love the color he picked out for it, but he was also a cheap-ass and neglected the jambs so they're all stil purple. he also paid them to mold the side skirts in, but they only did it in the door jamb where it needed alot of repair.. which they did a pretty decent job of doing, but they didnt mold the whole skirt. he also paid them to patch the crack in the front lip and the piece that was missing on the side.. they did a piss-poor job fixing the missing piece and neglected the crack altogether. then on top of it all, the quality looks no better than the purple paint.. it still looks hazy and dry-shot... but hey, for $300, he did alright

what do the EVO5 skirts look like? anyone around here wanna trade Type J skirts for them?

I did take care of Stacy.. that car ran better than most cars with only half the mods. no one but Winstel, Higgins and Robert can truly understand the work that went into her. out of the whole Orlando area, I dont think anyone has done a '95-'99 Ecotec swap, let alone had the clusterf*ck of a car to work with

does Jake still have the skirts? they seem nice, but a lil too plain for me. I like how the Razzi's flare out at the bottom, kinda like the J skirts, but the Razzi's dont have the part that comes up over the rear quarter. I want them to stay under the body line
