96 Sunfire part-out or sale
Thursday, February 05, 2009 3:06 PM
I have two new family members! Well, one of the new members isn't here yet. He or she (it's a surprise) is due in June.
However, I have a family member you guys may not know about. Welcome the Saab 9-3. The pics I have are too large to upload.

Consequently, I've decided that it's time to finally let the Sunfire go. I'm still emotionally attached, being my first car and everything, but it just doesn't make sense to give that much garage space to something I'll probably never fix. I'd like to, but it's potential isn't high enough to warrant that kind of investment. I've got a Saab 9-3 and a Ducati - what on Earth am I going to do with a Sunfire? That being said, I'm going to put the car/parts up for sale. If you need a donor car, you can take the whole thing for $1000. It's driveable, but needs a battery. The tires aren't bad, and only one rim has scratches. I have KYB AGX shocks with Eibach sportline springs. I have two 12" Pioneer subs, a 700-something amp, a 400 Jensen amp, and a 1.5 farad cap. I have a ZEX 55 system (hasn't been used in a while but should work). There's other miscellanious items and all the standard parts too. I would not recommend buying the car for its motor. If you just want some of these peices, make an offer. If you're going to take wheels or suspension, I need a OEM trade so I can donate the car later.

I PM'd you about the ZEX system. But I have'nt heard back. You decide not to part it?

Sorry, I didn't get the PM. Someone did email me about the ZEX kit, but it isn't sold yet. I'll let you know.

I also have the GM front strut-tower brace.

Also, it's been a week and a half since my decision, so I'll drop to $850 for the whole thing. It would be good if you need a donor vehicle or if you're interested in the suspension and or wheels. The wheels are Exel TZ 10 gunmetal with Toyo Proxes (maybe 50-60% tread left).

Oh yeah, how did I forget the RK Sport rear wing and street fighter body kit?
The front bumper is the original RK front in fiberglass, and the sides and rear are the second generation that came out around 2003 I guess?

Thanks! Are FL J shows still happening? So many of the old guys ditched the J's so I don't hear about J stuff so much.
It doesn't help that I've been rather secluded anyway.

Maybe I'll show up on the Ducati again, or the Saab this time.

How much for the amps?

Here's an update: the ZEX kit everyone is interested in - I'll take $75 plus shipping unless you're local and can pick it up. I would recommend painting it. I have pictures, and it looks like the paint is falling off - that's because I got it used and the prior owner tried to paint it. The original paint is hiding under there, but I don't think you'll get it to show.

The amps: I have no attachment to and it's been a long time since I used them. It would be best if you're local and could test these things before buying. As far as I know, everything works - it did the last time I used them. Either amp or the cap, $20 plus shipping costs ($50 and you can have both amps with the cap), but I make no guarantee they still work. If you're local - I have them mounted in a custom box that replaces the rear seat - but there's no way I can ship that.

Update: I'm going to try and test the car and amps this weekend. I'll post another update at that time to let you know what works and what doesn't.

Peter!!!!!!!!! Long time man, its Ian. I still have a J, but not the sunfire, its long gone. Seems most everyone has moved on, those that still have Js are doing their own thing. Congrats on the new arrival, my second is due in Oct. Good luck with the family.
