I always perfer to race against cars I do not stand a chance with, that way I know I can't beat them so I concentrate on what I need to do. Seem like your getting consistent.

meh, i'm focused anyways. i just find it funny that i'm always running a V8.
i'm going down the back roads and mastering this competitive mode with it's no-lift shift and launch control.
GM used it to get that 14 flat and so did Hahn so i think it's time to get it down packed!
i'm updating the top three slips from each night up now.
so as i get more times, i can see progress of some sort

Best thing is practice. Practicing on the back roads can gain some helpful things, but street and track are WAY different. Good way to get the shifting down (I do not lift on my shifts from 2-4.
What was your tire pressure at? Another helpful thing is a log book. I have a Summit log book I got many years ago. Of course it is intended for pro drivers. You can put down each run, all the times on the slip, tire settings front and rear, , shck seting, temp, launch RPM's, shift RPM's etc.... This is a good way to track what works and what does not.

oh yeah, street and track are two completely different settings but launching without bogging it out(i guess) is what i need to do better. that damn launch
a log book would be helpful. especially when you can run 10-15 times a night/day. another reason i hate speedworld in orlando

i ran a gt v6 grand am claiming 14.9 n pulled him by a fender.. not bad for the old ld9.. are you having wheel hop or traction probs. on launch?? n what was your 60'? mines 2.2

i used to work for bridgestone/firestone n i researched tire pressures one day.. any radial tire should be run at a tire-specific pressure b/c even though a lower pressure will gain traction for launch, it induces drag on the top end slowing you down.. i never even thought of that.. just somethin to keep in mind..

I would agree in normal driving. For the track the negative is not going to out weight the gain.
